REASONS 09/25/2026 It must be at least a day since I posted a pic of my '04 Vette, now officially named "FANG" because that was the name of my first car, a '57 BMW Isetta. (No, really.) That one was a "he" this one is a "she." That one was named for a Nervous Norvus song, this one for the Mystery.

Love this! The speed, the chords, the rhythm... None of my friends did tho when it first came out. I'd play it at parties—once there were parties—and everyone would go hang out in the kitchen. 🤣 youtu.be/DbLxDsCiRSo

#ResistanceRoots Joseph Henry Sharp was born on this day in 1859 in Bridgeport, Ohio. A classically trained painter, he was captivated by the Southwest and focused on documenting tribal cultures and individual personalities. He became known as the Spiritual Father of the Taos Society of Artists. /1
Joseph Henry Sharp, ca. 1900. Sharp was a masterful visual historian and the visionary catalyst for New Mexico’s global art standing. His deafness, which began in childhood, became a professional asset, allowing him to bypass linguistic barriers to earn the trust of Indigenous models who rejected other white portraitists. Operating with a sense of urgency, yet treating his subjects with patience and respect, Sharp preserved the faces of a generation of Native Americans whose ways of life were under assault. His collection of more than 7,000 Western works, including his portraits of Little Bighorn survivors, stands as an irreplaceable historical archive. Sharp also set off the chain of events that birthed the Taos Society of Artists, transforming an isolated mountain village into an international powerhouse of American fine art.

Happy Public Lands Day! All four of these images were taken on straight-up public land - not National Park, Monument or Wilderness. There's so much out there, and our formal protected categories by no means cover all the amazing places. #landscapephotography #publiclands #idaho #nevada #newmexico
Landscape photo of steep snowy mountains and tawny hills at sunset, with a complex pattern of dappled golden light mixed with shadow. Photograph of two high desert peaks under an orange sunset sky. The larger peak in the distance wears a lenticular cloud on its summit. The closer one has sparse trees around its base, with steeper rock outcrops higher up. They are separated by a broad and empty yellow plain.Vertical photograph of a landscape of very steep granite cliffs and crags, with just a tough of warm light on the highest formation.Landscape photo overlooking a sparsely timbered valley in autumn, with warm low angle sunlight shining in from the upper right, illuminating green shrubs and red ground flora.

About 2 months ago I ordered a very special guitar effects pedal from a company in Ontario (Canada) that builds them by hand. It's finally on its way. Unfortunately there's now a GODDAMNED 50% TARIFF on the item and I have to pay an additional $94.50 *before* delivery. I am feeling kind of ugly.

Senator @heinrich.senate.gov is making a grave mistake negotiating w/Trump & MAGA on “permitting reform.” If a deal is cut, it’ll bulldoze a path for AI data centers & fossil fuels, harming beloved landscapes such as Greater Chaco. And Heinrich will be responsible. I do not say this lightly.
