This is written by one of the BBC's senior journalists. The appalling quality of journalism laid out for everyone to see. Putting inflated in inverted commas. Suggesting other clubs benefitted from their cheating. Just awful. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...

Man City guilty charges: Which clubs did 'inflated' money flow to in transfer market?

BBC Sport follows the trail of transfer money flowing to other clubs during Manchester City's period of financial rule-breaking.

Jess @jhavfc9.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

The state that definitely doesn't own Man City, but directly paid sponsors to give Man City more money to inflate their revenues for 9 years, just casually adding political blackmail to the list of endearing qualities.

I don't buy this. Within a a couple of seasons Man City would be pretty much forgotten in terms of being a revenue cash cow for the Premier League. They have 5 other clubs to use worldwide. It's hardly them or bust.

Jess @jhavfc9.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Precisely why states should not own football clubs. It shouldn't require any opinion or intervention from our government.

Man City have shown zero remorse and are still belittling the legal process. Hard to see how they can expect any leniency.

Aston Villa’s other owner: What role do Atairos and Michael J Angelakis play at the club? (Gift Article)

Who is Michael J Angelakis, the head of investment company Atairos, and what is his role at Villa?

I don't think there are the numbers required within their fan base to lead on any cause to remove their owners or at least the members of the board found guilty of lying. Unfortunately the game became devoid of any morals a long time ago.

This "irrefutable evidence" is exactly what they have been guilty of.

In three seasons Manchester City won the Premier League, 2011-12, 2013-14 and 2017-18, they recorded £360million in commercial income from Abu Dhabi-based sponsors The independent commission found that just £43m of that was actually paid to City by those sponsors

The football rot started when Silvio Berlusconi, at that time just president of AC Milan, lobbied for a champions league because pure knockout competitions were unacceptably risky for major clubs and "not modern thinking". We've had 40-odd years of modern thinking everywhere and isn't life grand.

We can now look forward to a long appeal process, I know. But we can also say, now, "Manchester City, who were found guilty of 114 charges..." every time we mention the club's name; and I believe we should. No more "allegations". They were found guilty, and that is a fact.

A cow named Vahine was airlifted to safety from a mountain in the French Pyrenees after getting stuck in mud and becoming too weak to descend. The area was inaccessible by vehicle, so rescuers transported her by helicopter.

Saturday is more important to have Gomes, so not worth aggravating anything for a cup game. We need him back for our league games.

Aston Villa’s Ian Maatsen expected to be out for up to eight weeks with ankle injury (Gift Article)

The 24-year-old left-back had MRI scans on the joint after James McAtee's tackle forced him off during their defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Jess @jhavfc9.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

I missed the second goal for Forest live yesterday. I received a phone call when it happened and told one of my colleagues had passed away unexpectedly. I was posting about the game normally yesterday. I think i was in shock. It's started to process overnight. He was only 35, with a wife and 2 boys.

Jess @jhavfc9.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

2-0 flatters a little. Sunderland really pushed Arsenal. Two World class moments either end of the pitch within minutes of each other. Truly outstanding save from Raya for the penalty.

I genuinely don't understand why we don't move McGinn into central midfield with so many wide options available to us.

Jess @jhavfc9.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Thanks to Barkley giving the ball away. 🙄

Jess @jhavfc9.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Frustrating half. Forest difficult to break down, as expected. Pau being forced off upsets our progressive passing. Barkley and Kamara too similar for me. Slow and unwilling to break lines. Could do with a big of a spark to give Forest more to think about.

Jess @jhavfc9.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
