Urticaria or Chronic Hives, is a skin condition that I seem to be afflicted with now. The attached photos tell the story of how Utricaria has affected me so far. I decided to write a diary about it because I’m bored and feel like writing this down gives me some control of the narrative 🙂

York: After Dark Last week Sue & I visited York to see our youngest & do a bit of sightseeing. On our last night I went for a wander around the old town. The streets are different after dark, strange & uncertain, the shadows uncanny with dark possibilities. I made these images along the way 🤓

Metro Brum isn’t blessed with an iconic mass transit network like some places. However, our Tram system is slowly growing and during 2026 I’ve found myself lingering along the city route, intrigued by what images I can make. It’s kinda crept up on me, but it’s becoming a full blown project 📸🤓

Science Fiction. When I started out in photography (2017/18) my motivations were relatively simple. Capturing the world around me as I saw it. Fast forward to now and I find those motivations rather different. Now I’m making images of a fictional world that I’ve imagined 🤩📸

Heralds of the Dawn. The Summer Solstice at Stonehenge is one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. Just before dawn, the surrounding fields filled with rolling mists. And from within, eldritch figures emerged, heralds welcoming the dawn. Turned out they were locals 🤣 Stonehenge, 2026.

Tenby, after hours. Whilst on holiday in Tenby, South Wales, I made a few images around the town after dark. I’d forgotten how empty these places get post 11pm. We’re so used to cities being 24/7 places. In the real world, closing time really means closing, and the places empty of people.

I saw a woman have a terrible fall in the City. She fell face first into the road & visibly hurt her jaw. After a small group of people helped her up, they all left. I couldn’t believe it. She was visibly hurt & confused, so I stayed & got her help. Empathy for your fellow humans costs nothing 🙏🏻
