I've just finished painting up my Dexcessa and Synessa. I tried some fun stuff on these and I'm really happy with how they've come out.

The Games Workshop miniature Dexcessa painted with bright blue skin, a galaxy pattern on her peacock fan thing, and magenta cloth.

I have tweaked my regular Soulblight Gravelords list for the new season. Vhordrai is feeling a bit unwieldy, so I've replaced him with a Wight Lord on Skeletal Steed and 10 Barrow Knights. Now that I've painted the Wight King model I have painted all my Soulblight Gravelords.

The Games Workshop Soulblight Gravelords Wight King on Skeletal Steed sitting on a painting handle to raise it above the five Games Workshop Barrow Knights arrayed before it. All are painted with dirty, rusted and aged armour, with pops of red and purple.

A little over a week ago this beautiful little bastard died after 17 and a half years. She was so much a part of our lives that we constantly still see her everywhere. It's been tough and I've had a hard time sleeping and painting but I'm getting past it now.

My phone informed me (quite rudely IMO) that I started painting my Slickblade Seekers over a year ago. They remain on my desk, incomplete. I have also just recently invested in a significant increase in my army. I'm going to have to start painting these things a bit quicker if I ever hope to finish.

4 Games Workshop Slickblade Seekers. Partially painted.

A Games Workshop Slickblade Seeker champion. Painted in non-metallic metal gold and silver with magenta/purple cloth and sky blue highlights.

For a few months I've been working on and off on this piece for a local comp. I'm quite pleased with the result, I pushed every aspect of my hobbying. I particularly tried to focus on composition and NMM.

Image depicts a Games Workshop Tzeench Fateweaver, standing on a stone tower carved to look like a snake wrapped around a pile of rocks. There are creepy pale hands of varying sizes reaching up from the rock.

The whole miniature and background is painted in shades of red and yellow.

"Trans people will always exist." Cool. "They can't kill us all." Comforting. Yeah, transness will survive, but *I* want to survive, too, y'know? But also, survival and existence aren't enough for me anymore, and they shouldn't be enough for allies either. I want to see my trans friends thrive.

With the stove dials in the background, the bag looks like a giant excited mouth with eyes very happy about the casserole. Between commission work I've been gradually working on my Tzeench Fatemaster. My goal this weekend was to finish laying down the base tones and making sure I'm happy with the values. I think it's going well so far, and now it will sit untouched for a week while I knock out some commissions.

A work in progress Tzeench Fateweaver from Games Workshop. The figure is a person in armour holding a spear in their left hand with their right hand raised as if casting a spell. They have a bird on their shoulder.

The miniature is painted in reds, with a white bird.

I'm reluctant to speak up on trans topics these days because it's often not worth the pain caused, so I'm probably going to regret this, but disappointingly a lot of people need to hear this. Accusing trans women of "male socialization" is an astonishingly cruel, callous, and spiteful thing to say.

There are many things I want to get around to painting at the moment but I am currently overburdened by my own commission painting successes. It is very nice and refreshing however to get to paint up a bunch of Blood bowl star players after the sheer tedium of White Scars space Marines

4 Blood Bowl star players. From left to right, a bootleg The Mighty Zug painted in Blue and off-white, a retro Morg 'n Thorg, painted in Blue and white with metallics, a 3d printed Akhorne in red-brown with purple and white armour atop a skull in lava wearing a green helmet, and a 3rd party Nobbla Blackwart (a goblin with chainsaw) in red and yellow.

A classic Games Workshop Morg 'n Thorg miniature. An ogre who plays blood bowl, this classic pose has a chainmail glove with a big ol' spike on it, raised high.

The miniature is painted with a blue and white checkered shoulder pad and blue and white striped pants.

The last couple of days I've had the opportunity to start getting down the colours on this piece. Conceptually, I'm quite pleased with how it's coming out.

A partially painted Tzeench Fateweaver from Warhammer Age of Sigmar. This armoured sorcerer stands on a rock that looks a bit like a cooled snake that's missing the top of it's head above the lower jaw.
This is enclosed in a black picture frame and has a painted background that gives the impression of clouds. All around the rock, stark white hands are reaching out from the darkness.

Jetshroom he/they/her @jetshroom.bsky.social · 06/04/2026

In between commission work, I've been preparing a piece for a local painting comp. I had to move away from my original concept to one a bit more static, but I like how the composition is coming out for now.

A 3D sculpted wizard (Warhammer Age of Sigmar Fateweaver) standing on top of a carved tower of rock. The rock has been carved into the shape of an enormous snake, with the wizard standing where the tongue would be. (The top of the snake head is missing)
Around the outside of the rock tower are hands reaching up and outwards.
The whole thing is contained inside a black photo frame.

I've been working on a commission recently, this group of White Scars. (Everybody always wants you to paint white space Marines lol) The base layers are down, now I'm gloss varnishing in preparation for pin washing.

Image contains a selection of Warhammer 40k miniatures. 3 Space Marine bikes, one Space Marine hero on hover bike, and a large, front heavy airplane-like bomber. They are painted as White Scars, so all white armour, with red accents.

A photo of my army that won "Coolest army" at Vic GT in Bendigo, including trophy . Army contains:
Prince Vhordrai, Vampire Lord on Nightmare, Radukar the Beast, 15 Blood Knights, 20 Dire Wolves, 3 Vargheists, 3 Cursed Sepulchers, 2 Sanguine Swarms, 1 Hand of Nagash and 1 Unholy Reliquary.

I have completed the painting and sculpting of my Vengorian Blood Knights. Sculpted to match my Lauka Vai for the purposes of having a more beastial themed Path to Glory army, they nonetheless add an extra unit of Blood knights to my 2k force.

A group of 5 Warhammer scale Vengorian Blood Knights. These are part Bat, part Dragon, part Vampire centaurs. The bodies are sculpted by me, the torsos, heads, arms and weapons are Games Workshop bits.
They have been painted in weathered metal armour (aged copper and rusted iron) and have pinkish skin with a blueish black membraneous wings.
They have red banners.
Four have lances and one has an axe.

I have been working regularly on my Vengorian Blood Knights, (Gotta get them ready for Vic GT) and I've hit a point where I'm quite happy with how they're looking. There's just a few tweaks to go and they'll be done, however, I'm out of Milliput and won't be able to get any for 3 days.

A partially sculpted, partially kitbashed Vengorian style Warhammer Blood Knight. It looks like a centaur with wings instead of forefeet. It's kinda spindly and gross looking.
This one is holding an axe and shield.

5 partially sculpted, partially kitbashed Warhammer Blood knights gathered around the model that inspired them. Lauka Vai from the Soulblight Gravelords. Lauka Vai is a half vampire, half dragon, half bat, monster built like a centaur with bat wings for forefeet. She stands about 2.5 times larger than the knights around her.

This line of thinking is a political dead end. Don't worry about how you can't change the mind of a fascist sympathizer, they're in the minority. Worry about educating, organizing, and mobilizing the millions of people who already oppose fascism but don't know what to do about it.
