This looks like a spectacular bargain! I don't even have a project in mind and I'm still probably going to get it.

This is such a real thing. I don't experience gender strongly but it really does seem that a lot of cis men in particular experience it REALLY strongly. That's part of what started me down the track of discovering my gender fluidity.

I've just finished painting up my Dexcessa and Synessa. I tried some fun stuff on these and I'm really happy with how they've come out.

The Games Workshop miniature Dexcessa painted with bright blue skin, a galaxy pattern on her peacock fan thing, and magenta cloth.

It's never a great idea to keep all your eggs in one basket, but if you own the basket it's at least a bit safter. Also gives you that place to fall back on if your other platforms do weird shit (like they always do). That all said, it really depends on your goals. What are you trying to achieve?

Instagram is kind of hostile to static images these days, preferring instead to pretend it's tiktok. Established posters continue to get their follows but I don't consider it a growth platform. I'm very interested in the concept of going back to having your own site to share your stuff.

I read somewhere that this sort of thing is apparently really common and it's making things hard when training new dentists and surgeons because people are having to re-learn how to hold a pencil. One of those things I don't quite believe but also sounds REAL plausible.

They look great, do you find yourself cursing your past self for deciding to do them in NMM? I'm 2/5 of the way into a unit of Slickblade Seekers and I'm DEFINITELY doing that lol

I have tweaked my regular Soulblight Gravelords list for the new season. Vhordrai is feeling a bit unwieldy, so I've replaced him with a Wight Lord on Skeletal Steed and 10 Barrow Knights. Now that I've painted the Wight King model I have painted all my Soulblight Gravelords.

The Games Workshop Soulblight Gravelords Wight King on Skeletal Steed sitting on a painting handle to raise it above the five Games Workshop Barrow Knights arrayed before it. All are painted with dirty, rusted and aged armour, with pops of red and purple.

I'm back painting more regularly again and getting some good work done.

A slightly humanoid plant/flower creature. There is a bright reddish yellow flower where the head would be, and the arms/hands look like Venus fly traps. The body and vines are all a bright warm green. With a base of brownish green.

A little over a week ago this beautiful little bastard died after 17 and a half years. She was so much a part of our lives that we constantly still see her everywhere. It's been tough and I've had a hard time sleeping and painting but I'm getting past it now.

Ugh yeah, this one is real. My wife has to take a bunch of meds that she shouldn't simply stop, but her GP tends to be booked out well in advance. We can't change GPs because the meds are controlled and apparently it looks "too suspicious" if we get a different Dr to prescribe them.

Trying to paint minis but someone has other ideas.

A tortoiseshell cat, sitting on my lap, glaring at the miniature I'm trying to paint because it is interrupting the attention she is supposed to be receiving.

I am currently working on a Nurgle Blood Bowl team. I'm quite enjoying the colours and I'll be throwing some raw pigments and UV resin onto the bases.

A little Nurgle rotter for Blood Bowl. Painted with greenish skin and orange and white uniform.

They have kind of hit the point where they feel a bit like a burden, which I think is the main reason I haven't finished them. I did make the foolish decision to paint them with NMM. I stand by that decision but it does take a bunch of extra time. I am however looking forward to painting the twins

The Games Workshop Slaanesh twins, Dexcessa and Synessa. Models are assembled ands not attached to their bases. They are unpainted.

My phone informed me (quite rudely IMO) that I started painting my Slickblade Seekers over a year ago. They remain on my desk, incomplete. I have also just recently invested in a significant increase in my army. I'm going to have to start painting these things a bit quicker if I ever hope to finish.

4 Games Workshop Slickblade Seekers. Partially painted.

A Games Workshop Slickblade Seeker champion. Painted in non-metallic metal gold and silver with magenta/purple cloth and sky blue highlights.

For a few months I've been working on and off on this piece for a local comp. I'm quite pleased with the result, I pushed every aspect of my hobbying. I particularly tried to focus on composition and NMM.

Image depicts a Games Workshop Tzeench Fateweaver, standing on a stone tower carved to look like a snake wrapped around a pile of rocks. There are creepy pale hands of varying sizes reaching up from the rock.

The whole miniature and background is painted in shades of red and yellow.

"Trans people will always exist." Cool. "They can't kill us all." Comforting. Yeah, transness will survive, but *I* want to survive, too, y'know? But also, survival and existence aren't enough for me anymore, and they shouldn't be enough for allies either. I want to see my trans friends thrive.

A lot of people in my local community are very excited about the Ogors release so I'm keeping quiet in person about it but this is where I'm at 100%. They're fine. But AoS in particular usually has a lot more freedom to try to be interesting. There are a LOT of directions you could take Ogors.

I think they're trying hard to normalize the price point ($400+ in Aus) but I'm very much hoping this release goes the way AoS 4th did. It sold so poorly tournaments were giving them away for ATTENDANCE!

This brought me joy.

A photo of a stovetop with a casserole and an open bag of chips right behind it. With the stove dials in the background, the bag looks like a giant excited mouth with eyes very happy about the casserole. Next to the photo is digital art recreating the photo as an actual super happy creature holding a casserole

Between commission work I've been gradually working on my Tzeench Fatemaster. My goal this weekend was to finish laying down the base tones and making sure I'm happy with the values. I think it's going well so far, and now it will sit untouched for a week while I knock out some commissions.

A work in progress Tzeench Fateweaver from Games Workshop. The figure is a person in armour holding a spear in their left hand with their right hand raised as if casting a spell. They have a bird on their shoulder.

The miniature is painted in reds, with a white bird.

I'm really interested to see how well it sells, I wouldn't buy pre-painted terrain because I like to personally theme my stuff, but I also commission paint so I know there's an audience for stuff people don't have to paint.

I'm reluctant to speak up on trans topics these days because it's often not worth the pain caused, so I'm probably going to regret this, but disappointingly a lot of people need to hear this. Accusing trans women of "male socialization" is an astonishingly cruel, callous, and spiteful thing to say.

From Up on Poppy Hill is doing a lot of good work for me the last few years. Kiki's Delivery service is my favourite Ghibli movie, but I like this one for the cute, young love vibes and its calm simplicity.
