A series of blue foam blocks. The top of each block is covered in a mix of gravel, grit, and sand. Once that's dried, they're getting painted and then sides adding.

I can’t put into words the fury this reporting fills me with. How more indignity must trans people be spoken be subjected to by our national broadcaster?

One patient, Sion Jewell, had been due to have surgery to remove their breasts and had packed to go to hospital, only to be told in a phone call 24 hours before it that it had been called off.
The 29-year-old from Anglesey, who is biologically female, had waited five years from their initial GP referrals and the surgery had been postponed twice already for mental health reasons.
The surgery would be irreversible and would mean, for example, that Jewell would not be able to breastfeed in future.
"When I found out I was heartbroken - I was distraught and completely disheartened," they said.

We all know what low tide looks like, but does anybody know of any case studies of seabed that was drained and stayed that way for ages? Long enough that somebody could, if they so desired, dig trenches and fight over it? Only thing I can think is the Aral Sea, but that's more gradual. #Nerdlings

Aside from the fact it's currently blue, does this look like rock? Something vaguely shale-ish maybe? These trenches are meant to have been cut through rocky outcrops and coastal cliffs. I can't decide if this looks the part or if I should find a new technique before I continue? #nerdlings

A variety of work-in-progress wargames terrain pieces, primarily small trench systems or individual foxholes and low walls. They're mainly just shaped foam held together for glueing with wooden skewers to prevent too much movement.

A little talked about symptom of ADHD is Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD). This is an intense feeling that everyone hates you. RSD comes in waves, and does not require events to trigger it. You can be walking along with friends having a great time and suddenly you feel an outsider.

I am withdrawing my paper proposal from Warhammer Conference 2026. My reasoning can be found below. In a way, this has been one of the most stressful decisions of my academic career. In one way, the answer was clear to me since I found out about this.

To Dr. Ryder:

I am deeply saddened to do this, but I must withdraw my paper proposal for this year’s Warhammer Conference. I have been attending the conference every year since its inception, and as you are aware, this is the premiere conference in the field where I am currently writing my doctoral thesis.

My withdrawal is based your signature of the open letter in support of Nathan Cofnas, which I feel misleadingly frames his suspension as an issue of academic free speech, where as Ghent University has stated that their reasoning was based on shoddy work ethics and work that would bring university’s reputation into disrepute, i.e. “race realism” and other frankly racist and dubiously scientific works. I believe that many well-meaning scholars have been misled by primarily making this a case of academic free speech.

Moreover, Nathan Cofnas was the instigator for a mass harassment campaign of dubious merits that led to the death of Professor Jason Arday, which I find disgusting, horrible and unforgivable. I am unwilling to associate with anyone who shows support for Cofnas under the guise of academic free speech. The far right have shown their capability to use free speech as a smokescreen to harass, target, and demonize whole groups of people, and this is just another example of it. To see “academic free speech” being used as a reason to support this odious man is unacceptable to me. Without speculating on your motives, I have to listen to my own principles in this matter.
