Oh yeah I know about that. What I was saying is viewers or game devs can’t officially verify whether someone is currently opted in or out except by the honor system. Opted-in streams aren’t marked. Which I doubt Twitch would do anyways.

As a streamer, this whole situation is a pain. I primarily stream indie games and I hate that #twitch is making indie devs feel unsafe on the platform. I’ve opted out of the gen AI training, but there’s no real way to clearly let devs or viewers know that beyond using a barely noticeable tag.

I suppose, even if you’re only a viewer, you should probably go turn it off. Who’s to say “channel content” doesn’t include chat messages you send in other channels. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Worst thing about this is that it smears all the artists who worked on the actual movie. You spend months to years of your life working on a film, then marketing does some dumb shit like this and now that’s what people associate with your work. They’ll assume your movie is filled with ai shit too.

You can see some of my convo with the devs here: bsky.app/profile/jetp... They like specifying “creative elements” but carefully obscure how they do use it. They should put out a public statement if they don’t use Gen AI or LLMs at all. To me, a little bit of poop in the cake is too much poop. 😳

Not a game dev, but as an indie game twitch streamer, I love knowing which devs are also anti-AI. I’ve been burned too many times streaming a game and then discovering the studio used Gen AI and LLMs. 😤 So thank you, Anti-AI Devs! I want to support you! ❤️
