Every single piece of trans history is a blaring klaxon telling us: We can't rip ourselves apart, we must put our preternatural prickliness aside, we can and should disagree greatly but our futures are linked and the stakes are too great, we must figure that out no matter the emotions it raises.

I feel obligated to extend a blanket apology to poets, as I have always said that one should not date poets (I say as a poet myself) and the past few months have basically only been on dates with people who write poems (among other things), and it has been quite nice.

Hey so if you're in the USA, the FCC is floating the idea of making shows put a warning up if they include or discuss trans people and trans lives. A short paragraph saying this is messed up would help a lot! You gpt less than a week. Submit your comment by May 22: www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filings...
In a Public Notice released on April 22, 2026, the FCC is asking Americans to submit comments about whether the TV Oversight Management Board (TVOMB) should create new TV ratings to alert viewers to "transgender and gender non-binary programming" and "the discussion or promotion of gender identity themes."

Pleased to report Martha Baillie's THE INCIDENT REPORT (2014) continues to absolutely slap, a 10/10 book, and hits harder now that I also work in a public library (and have met many Strange Fellows). Everyone should read it, it's an all-timer of almost strange fiction (which Martha does so well).

absolutely bonkers to claim that kidnapping people -- a crime -- somehow prevents crime. The way so many Americans seem to actively hate anyone who's ever had a run-in with the law is truly disturbing
