12 mile bike ride this morning, across the city for the first time. I am 100% beat to hell, I don't have nearly the stamina I thought I did. But I'll get there. Also, this exposure to the way drivers behave around bicycles has turned me instantly into a cycling crank. I am become Calvin's dad.

Sitting in a clothing pantry with a client, and they've got an automated system reading off announcements for when people are out of shopping time. It repeats each phrase twice, first in standard computer voice English, then in another that's also English, but with an unplaceable accent.

Almost got ran over while walking to the gym today, and I hit the curb funny running to get out of the way. I was able to do a full workout on it, and then walk to the store and home while carrying all my gym stuff and groceries, and it was fine. Now, though, it's really starting to hurt.

So I have a hoodie that I bought a few months before I started my diet back in 2024, and it fit at the time. Maybe just the tiniest bit baggy, but entirely comfortable. I can now fit my entire body inside it. I can put it on and wrap it around my girlfriend's body at the same time, and zip it up

I've been working my way through Gravity's Rainbow, and it's got to be the weirdest book I've ever read. Very good at conveying the feeling of paranoia, very hard to follow the actual story, the most uncomfortably obscene writing I've ever encountered in some scenes, beyond pornographic, very weird
