October. A golden month as the light slowly slips away in preparation for winter. Apples, & pumpkins abound together with green kales & cabbages. Sweet chestnuts fall, ready to be roasted. Leaves turn red, gold & orange in a burst of colour before falling. The veil between worlds thins.
View of a golden sunrise lighting the sky and clouds above.

'View from the Window.' (c1950) Margaret Green was a painter of narrative landscapes and figure compositions of subtle strength and quiet lives; she remained largely unknown to a wider public - a story familiar to many women artists of her generation.

This is the only drawing (1868) made by John Everett Millais for an uncompleted project with Alfred Lord Tennyson and the composer Sir Arthur Sullivan to combine poetry, painting and music - 'The Songs of the Wrens,' by Tennyson and Sullivan came out of this idea.

'Sunshine, Drawing Room.' (1905) Vilhelm Hammershøi’s interiors are his most popular pictures, and they have defined public perception of his achievements as an artist. Although he was working in the era of Picasso, Matisse and Duchamp, he has more in common with Vermeer.

Shout out to the various archivists and restoration peeps who follow me: Read the whole thread, but the TLDR is that this is the last recording of a lovely choir in their prime, and it would be nice for them to hear that again, before time has its way. As it does with us all.

The late 1870s to the 1880s were a major turning point in the career of Camille Pissarro and the other Impressionists. Here we can see his tendency toward pointillist techniques which would be further developed in the later 1880s under Seurat's influence.

Today's inspirational message:
Cartoon by Paul Noth.

A conference room in a skyscraper in a large city. Skyline with many high-rises visible through the window. Around the conference table, four men, all looking at tablets and documents. One says, "Every A.I. company talks about human extinction, but how do we invest in the one that will actually deliver?"

Whenever the train tannoy says they are being “held at a red signal” I think of this Far Side cartoon:
A cartoon showing an airplane’s cockpit. The pilot makes an announcement:
“I'm afraid we're going to have to head back, folks. ...
We've got a warning light on up here, and darn if it isn't the big one."
