The thing about ICE and DHS is that I was 28 or 29 when they were created. I remember people arguing that they would become an authoritarian tool specifically designed to terrorize Americans. They knew.

Folks, you know what the most effective counterterrorism tactic we used in SOCOM was? Making the enemy so scared of getting hit by a drone strike or a strike team that they hid and isolated themselves. A single drone or strike team + a bunch of people talking too loudly in public = suppression.

Someone just called in ICE knocking doors in Uptown and within 5 minutes maybe 100 people had arrived. Probably a false alarm but extremely hard to see how ICE operates with this kind of suffocating neighborhood response. Incredible work Minneapolis. ICE, just give up and get out already.

I’ve started using the term “ethnic cleansing campaign” to describe the ICE occupation here in Minnesota. This is deliberate because the reality on the ground is that, at a given moment, any non-white person can be kidnapped by masked federal paramilitaries regardless of their constitutional rights.
