The reason we haven't heard a lot about plague (Yersinia pestis) since the mid-20th century is not because it just disappeared, it's because we have better antibiotics, stanitation, & pest control. Widespread plagues are rare and treatable. While pneumonic is scary, it is still the same bacteria.

So, the only mammogram I’ve ever had that was even kinda uncomfortable* was this last one, BUT THAT’S ON ME: I scheduled it right before my period 🙃 Otherwise I’ve never had any issues *and I mean just minimally like “oh! I’m ready for this to be done now.” Not intolerable or anything.

Since it's full sun, zero clouds, and almost 78° today-I'm doing yard work. This is Bob, less fuzzy brother of our friend Dave the Porch defender. Bob chills out on lingering sedum and summer flowers while I pull weeds and check on the pre-winter state of things. Good conversationalist.

Bob. A carpenter bee on a sedum, who must have a home near my house. He's very friendly. Fights off those nasty wasps. And hangs out with the lesser bugs and bumblebees while I tend to their flowers.
Note: all Carpenter bees on the back half and rear of my house are Bob. All Big fat Bumblebees in the front of my house are Dave. It's the law.

My new dr office uses an AI office manager that I cannot opt out of. They requested files from Drs I used going back a decade. Today I got a text saying I had a "new message" on klarna from a Dr. I quit in 2016. Just one of a million reasons AI sucks at taking over human jobs.
