when you dislocate / break your ankle which is really fucking terrible for everything you do irl (work where you lift heavy equipment, schoolwork/teaching, gardening you wanted to do as an escape from work and school) BUT it means you can show up to more calls than you thought you'd be around for 🥹

here's something i keep thinking about. everyone always debates about pineapple on pizza, and they always make it so serious, too. HOWEVER: nobody ever considers how there's only one type of pizza you're actually putting the pineapple on! you never see pineapple on ANY pizza which isn't hawaiian!

the woman formerly known as "Nintendo GameCube"

drawings of a middle aged woman with a bob cut in a loosely worn business suit, looking rather jaded. her name is akari totaka (42 years old.) there are a few comic bubbles where she talks to someone offscreen:
"want to go to karaoke after work?"
"no thanks, i'm awful at singing."
"oh, but you don't have to be good-"
"tried it before. i don't find it fun."

"did you used to be an actor or something? your face looks so familiar..."
"not to my knowledge"
"i swear i've seen your face and voice before though..."
"you must have me mistaken for someone else."

said woman noticing displays for various nintendo game sequels in public and being surprised by them. specifically they are pikmin 4, metroid prime 4 beyond and kirby air riders. the last one upsets her in particular.

she shows off a tablet with a picture of her younger self dressed in an idol costume resembling the nintendo gamecube.
"this would have been around ah... 2004, probably? most miserable i'd ever been in my entire life."
another picture has her looking distraught sitting at a table.
"c? the gamecube didn't have a c button... did it?"
"no, it was a stick... maybe you're getting it mixed up with nintendo 64?"

as a music ed. major who's learned to play several woodwind instruments, my favorite part of the OoT remake is that the notes which aren't mapped to buttons might be playable through pressing multiple buttons at once instead of just up/down! it makes the ocarina more like how it'd actually be played

>spotted a paper on my windshield as i walked back to my car. >”motherfucker-“ >read it HELLO????? SOMEONE DREW MY CRINGEMOBILE AS A TFSONA???? THIS IS SO SWEET WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!

An extremely ominous piece of white paper, folded in half and tucked beneath the front windshield wiper of the noble 2013 Toyota Prius V, The Car of Kings. It looks like a parking ticket, but upon close inspection, the front reads “Open Me!! (Drawing not a car ticket)”. The exclamation points are pulling double duty as big anime eyes for a profoundly kawaii smiley face.

My hand holding the unfolded piece of paper, revealing a darling pencil drawing of my car, the cherished cringemobile, as a transformer in robot mode!! They have a decepticon decal on their left shoulder and extremely cutieful door wings!!! They have a visor for optics and are making a nonplussed expression, likely due to the Philly heat (as my wife’s favorite musical once put it: it’s hot-as-hell! in Phil-a-del! Phia!). To the right of the drawing there is a decepticon insignia, under which the artist has signed their name: Averie (which is apparently going very fast because it seems to be giving off speed lines and a dust cloud). They dated it with today’s date, 7-8-26, and included their TikTok: rag_d0oll. At the bottom is what is presumably a self portrait of Averie saying “Nice car” with a smiley face, revealing that the artist looks like if Zero from Drakengard had a scene phase, and also could experience joyful whimsy.
