With so many copycats in MLB, let’s hope this is the next trend — a player who strives for base hits rather than selling out for home runs, which brings the inevitable avalanche of strikeouts. So much more fun to watch hitters get on base. www.wsj.com/sports/baseb...

Chandler Simpson of the Tampa Bay Rays is the ultimate throwback. He’s ridiculously fast, produces a ton of singles and is the only everyday player in MLB who hasn’t hit a homer.

Trump denies now wanting to put his name on Ford's Theater. But how is that any crazier than putting his name on a different cultural center named for a different slain president? Trump's just embarrassed. But EVERYTHING he does these days is an embarassment.

There's really no good argument against it, especially if Dems take the Senate. A distraction? Futile? As opposed to what, passing bills that you can't get past a veto anyway? Oversight? You get more attention and stronger legal tools with impeachment. Just do the right thing, it's good politics!

As I explained the last time this dumb argument made the rounds, if Congress was never allowed to change the Court’s size (something it’s done seven times), that would mean four of the *current* justices (all of whom are Republicans) hold unconstitutionally created seats: www.ms.now/opinion/repu...

Republicans say court packing is 'unconstitutional.' They're wrong.
The argument that court expansion is unconstitutional is weak, transparently political — and most importantly, wrong.

The need for unity in general elections holds whether the nominee is moderate, liberal, or socialist. Every faction does infighting sometimes and every faction loses sometimes. This is not a wink to any one faction having the high ground. To stop fascism, we have to unite behind our nominees.
