I agree with Rick Wilson here. If we win in Nov, Dems cannot fold. "the people who voted in November aren’t voting for comity. They’re voting for accountability." Also, despite all the polls, we can't assume a victory. Go vote, in overwhelming numbers. www.againstallenemies.net/p/no-mercy-f...

I had a good conversation with Michael Corrado at Nikon about the cameras used to capture the stunning photos during Artemis II. Although cameras need to be hardened for radiation etc, the astronauts essentially used off-the-shelf (and relatively old) camera technology. www.cnet.com/tech/computi...

It’s not all about the latest camera gear – the astronauts relied on both old and new tech that anyone can buy off-the-shelf.

Renderings show an ornate and gilded interior that departs from the simplicity of the original White House and echoes the look of the ballroom at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, a look he has said was inspired by the Palace of Versailles in France. A March budget for the new White House ballroom included nearly $6 million in gold leaf. The project also includes secure underground facilities that Trump has said are necessary for national security.

There’s obviously a lot going on right now, but a Russian oligarch bankrolling the wedding of the president’s son is the kind of story that should dominate headlines in any functioning political culture.

"They're not misunderstanding the film; they're co-opting a message"
Screencap from the interview linked in the quoted post

Marlow Stern (the interviewer): You have one of the most renowned replies in Twitter history. Elon Musk tweeted out, “Take the red pill,” then Ivanka Trump enthusiastically wrote, “Taken!” to him, and then you replied, “Fuck both of you.” I’m curious how you feel about the co-opting of “The Matrix” by those on the right who don’t really seem to understand its messaging.

Lilly Wachowski: I mean, I can’t sit in a room and explain the movie to every single person who watches it. Even if I did sit in a room with Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump — yikes — it doesn’t matter. They’re not misunderstanding the film; they’re co-opting a message. And that’s what fascists do: They co-opt the messages of progressives and use it to their benefit to confuse and obfuscate what is going on and the intention of their ideology. They do it with everything. They do it with Martin Luther King Jr. Look at how they’ve changed the idea of what antisemitism is.
