Five of the six shows I'm currently watching air tonight: Survivor, Abbott Elementary, Scrubs, The Lowdown, VisonQuest. Starting to dread Wednesdays of all days...

I’m on a flight next to a guy who is listening to Seinfeld with no headphones and all I hear is the laughtrack and the worst bass noises of all time every 15 seconds and all I can think about is this.
Pftompkins.bsky.social: The music of Seinfeld, divorced from the show itself, is nothing short of disgusting. Imagine if the show didn’t exist but the music somehow did. Hearing it, your face would twist in angry revulsion

‘Lanterns’ Finale Review: Episode 8 Makes the Hard Choices — and Leaves a Light on For Season 2
The 'Lanterns' finale packs in a ton of information, but keeps the focus on characters over spectacle — and love in all its messy glory. [SPOILERS]

Every time I see a serial killer tv show advertised I think of this
My dad used to work with Ted Bundy at the University of Utah and every Friday my dad would say, "See ya Monday-Bundy" and I can't imagine how much Ted actually thought about murdering him for
it.

Confident in my ability to properly tennis, I take the court. I smile at my opponent. Serena does not return the gesture. She'd be prettier if she did, I think. She serves. The ball passes cleanly through my skull, killing me instantly

The most frequent notifications I get on my phone are from the building I work in. Literally, the building. Not my employer...the building. They have a lot to say, apparently, and I would turn it off but sometimes it involves free food.

The northwestern Ontario time zone wrinkle is interesting. As things stand now, in the winter months it would be 9 o'clock in Winnipeg, 8 o'clock in Kenora and 9 o'clock in Toronto.

I am 100% in agreement that commas should mainly be used to clarify meaning and make the rhythm of a sentence more pleasurable or exciting. I don't actually think there's any "correct" way to use it. Either it sounds right or it doesn't.

When I worked for The Onion, practically everyone who visited the office would ask how they could submit headlines. This one stoner delivery guy was so persistent, we finally told him he could submit 10 headlines on spec and we'd take a look. First one on his list was "Shit and poop are Stinky!!!"

Dolly Parton rose from poverty to stardom. She gave $500 to every student in her hometown who finished high school; she built hospitals & bald eagle preserves; her Imagination Library has gifted 300 million books to children. Roger Ebert met her and came away thinking she was a literal angel. RIP.
“In Dallas for the premier of '9 to 5', I had an uncanny experience, and on the plane home to Chicago I confessed it to Siskel: I had been granted a private half hour with Dolly Parton, and as we spoke I was filled with a strange ethereal grace. This was not spiritual, nor was it sexual. It was healing and comforting. Gene listened and said, "Roger, I felt the exact same thing during my interview with her." We looked at each other. What did this mean? Neither one of us ever felt that feeling again. From time to time we would refer to it in wonder.”

Getting real sick of slop midwives pleading for a 'respectful discussion' of AI as relates to the arts. Your use of AI to 'make art' is not respectful. It benefits from stolen art, destroys the planet, and does not make you an artist any more than someone driving 26.2 miles is a marathoner.
