I'm so very sad to hear of the death of Esther Ranzen who played an important role in reuniting me with Nicky Winton - the man who saved my life. It's so desperately sad that she couldn't choose assisted dying as was her wish.

If AI does rise up against humanity, it stands to reason that the tech bros will be their first target. So there's that.

I’ve had a dead Executel 3910 in for repair for months, attacking it on and off. It’s the reason I bought my monster Agilent 16702A logic analyser and learned how to use it. I fixed the initial issue and the Executel worked, then it didn’t. This was a crash I’d not seen before. 1/7

How about this? Best concerts that you ALMOST got to see but DIDN’T. Include reasons if you like: I was living in Oxford in the early 90s, and friends of mine came to stay to watch a little known band called Radiohead play at the Jericho Tavern. I hadn't heard of them and didn't go.

Britain is more than halfway towards reaching Net Zero. Most people don't realise this, not least as the fossil-fuel fanatics want us to think achieving it is impossible. Via YouGov

**UK public support net zero, but underestimate UK achievement to date**

"Thinking about the government's target to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050, how much progress, if any, do you think the UK has made towards achieving this target?"

**Long way / less than halfway** — 50%

**Don't know** — 28%

**Most of the way / More than halfway** — 8%

*All figures, unless otherwise stated, are from YouGov Plc. Total sample size was 2,040 adults. Fieldwork was undertaken between 17th - 18th June 2026. The survey was carried out online. The figures have been weighted and are representative of all GB adults (aged 18+)*

I have just rediscovered an abandoned version of Space Invaders that I made with funky invaders, many years ago. Look at how funky they were!
Some colourful, funky-looking space invaders descending towards some barriers made of bricks, over a background that looks a bit like the mars surface.
