I have a great idea for a new streaming service. Basically, it consolidates all the other streaming services to which you subscribe into one platform so that you can easily toggle between them. I call it "Television."

I might lose my mind if I hear another complaint from anyone in Alberta about feeling politically alienated from the federal government after what the UCP did today regarding the electoral boundaries. When it comes to political alienation in Alberta, the call is coming from inside of the house.

The UCP are defending their move to gerrymander electoral maps in Alberta by invoking this section from page 66 of the report. It is the recommendation of only one member and is provided “for the express purpose of dissuading the Legislature from accepting the minority report.”

Five alarm fire for democracy in Canada. Not just Alberta. The whole country. Not hyperbole. When we take away effective representation, we no longer have a real claim to being a liberal democracy. If Alberta gets away with this, other provinces will follow.

They are literally making it up as they go along. When they don't like the outcome, the Smith government rigs the process. It's a worrisome pattern for those who care about procedural fairness and institutional forebearance. You know, real conservatives.
