Abolishing the pension triple lock to help pay for a universal social care system seems fair enough, as too does reducing the inheritance tax threshold.

There's some street preacher hassling people with a megaphone outside Big Tesco - a place that surely disproves the existence of any god - and honestly, I can feel teenage New Atheist Jay wanting to have a scrap with him

There's a tiktok account with hundreds of thousands of followers and it's just this woman doing a bunch of POV roleplays as though she's a teacher (except she's not, as she admits in her bio) and honestly, I think she might be the worst person who has ever lived

Can't even buy a reusable bag in Tesco without someone having to remove a tag from it first. Very healthy, trusting country we've got here

Instagram has advertised something called 'Wet Hot Boys' to me about 70 times now and even I'm starting to think it's a bit much

Enjoyed RESIDENT EVIL, which nods lovingly to the games (indestructible padlocks! the box of shells! the dog's tentacles!) but isn't remotely beholden to them, but as is often the case with game adaptations, I couldn't shake the feeling that I'd rather be playing along rather than just watching

Emma is a natural host and Johannes is just very likeable but I'm not sure I can listen to Josh's laugh for the whole series

Not sure how I feel about this temu Nikita twink on Strictly. Feels a bit like when they find all those Ripley clones in Alien: Resurrection. Still would though, obviously

"Bravo" for what? Peddling and promoting the hatred and filth that got us to this point while he was Prime Minister? Arsonists don't get to talk about the importance of fire blankets.

Catarina and the Beauty of Killing Fascists at the National Theatre is very good but it does take two and a half hours (without an interval!) to reach a conclusion that I could've reached in about 10 seconds

Saw COYOTE VS. ACME earlier, which was a lot of fun but all the best bits were from the old cartoons. I could watch that idiot have his own catapult backfire on him a million times and laugh every single time.

My take on the "Celtic Alliance" is that the situation in the North of Ireland is so far removed from that of Wales and Scotland that is frankly insulting for Plaid and the SNP to suggest they're similar, and utterly foolish and counterproductive of Sinn Féin to do so

"One more thing Miss Barlow... you were about 14 in 2001, and you grew up in the UK, so why did they dismiss your school at noon on 9/11, when the attacks would have happened around 2 pm your time? I just don't understand how the school knew the attacks would be happening later"

All she does is lie. If she ever says anything stupid or preposterous or fucking mad, it's because she is lying. It was 7am in New York City when she says she was dismissed from school. She will "never forget" because it's impossible to forget something that didn't happen.

A helpful key here for understanding what wingnuttery is and how it works, here. I 100% guarantee you this did not happen and that the boys she’s talking about - she later clarified they were “Pakistani” - do not exist. And yet, I can also assure you Eve is *absolutely convinced* she saw this.
