Hi everyone! I have a quick ask for $150. Our meal donation program is at the end of our funds but we would like to provide one more meal to Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center, and we’re a little short. Can you help us raise the last bit to help us close out the program on this frigid day?

Hi friends, there is a south Mpls neighbor in need of funds for their asylum case. They received a court summons today & need an attorney to help. @danielsuitor.com has given some pro bono resources but we think they will need paid representation. Please see images for details & how to help.

A screenshot of a message with white text on a grey background. Text reads:
“My neighbor who is an asylum seeker can't afford a lawyer, but received a court document saying that they need to come to court in the middle of March unless they get an attorney, and under "riders" at the top it says “In removal proceedings"

Asylum seeker in need of legal help!
We're hoping to raise $7500 to secure an attorney while we also look for pro-bono help*.

If you can help, use the Cash app or
Venmo in the attached images.

*If we find pro-bono assistance, all donations will be returned

FRIDAY MORNING UPDATE: Overnight, so many of our friends and neighbors contributed we were able to pay rent for TWO more households. Now we have a large need. A multigenerational household needs $3500 for back rent and Feb. They’ve lost family to abduction and remaining members are unable to work.

We delivered pizzas to our unhoused neighbors today to get them a hot lunch on such a cold day (0° with -16° windchill at noon). So fresh they steamed up the windows! Huge thanks to Marsu Pizza for making this big order happen & thank you everyone who has donated to keep our food outreach going!

You’re missing some key context here, that Mille Lacs also was called out by another Ojibwe nation here in MN over their contracts with ICE and DHS. This was action motivated by other Indigenous people holding them accountable.

The cold is here to stay! Please help us by donating via Venmo or Cashapp- our immigrant-owned businesses need our support more than ever, and every meal we can provide in this frigid weather could be lifesaving. Info to donate is in the graphic below!

White text on a black background reads:
“There is still a great need! Many businesses are choosing not to open as their employees and customers are staying home. And with this weekly being well below freezing, our unsheltered folks need hot food and warm places.
Please keep giving!

Hello community! We are asking for more support for this fundraiser. Due to the extreme cold expected to linger in the Twin Cities for the next several days, we are seeing a huge need to help provide hot meals to unhoused people. Please help us continue to support our immigrant businesses!

Please read and share with anyone who might be planning on counterprotesting in Cedar-Riverside this weekend

Community Notice - Cedar-Riverside | Saturday, January 17
Community leaders in Cedar-Riverside, including elected officials, rapid response teams, faith leaders, community organizations, and residents, are sharing the following information to ensure safety and clarity this weekend.
We have been made aware that a small group of racist and anti-Muslim agitators may attempt to come into the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood on Saturday, January 17. Their intention appears to be to provoke disruption and create fear. Our community will not be drawn into that.
To support safety and stability, trained community patrollers wearing yellow vests, faith leaders wearing orange vests, and local law enforcement, including the Sheriff's Office and the Minneapolis Police Department, will be present to monitor and respond to any potential concerns.
Guidance for Cedar-Riverside Community Members
• Do not be afraid
• Go about your day as usual.
• If you see protest activity or offensive behavior, do not engage, argue, confront, or respond
• Avoid conversations with strangers, individuals recording video, or members of the media.
• If you have concerns or feel unsafe, approach a community patroller or call
911.
Guidance for Those Outside the Community
No protest activity is needed, welcomed, or appropriate inside Cedar-Riverside.
• If you wish to support the community, please coordinate with your local neighborhood rapid response network rather than coming into the area.
Cedar-Riverside is strong, resilient, and united. We look out for one another, and we continue keeping our community safe together.

One of the ripples caused by ICE’s horrific actions is the need for people to open their houses to pets of victims of abductions. Please consider helping my friend raise money to take care of some of these pets!
