How can we describe the impact of climate change in a way that is intuitive & relevant to the public? One idea…what percentage of the top 5 stories on Good Morning America have been weather/climate related over the last 50 years? Almost never a day weather doesn’t lead. That’s relatable to many.

Best/worst use of limited climate energy/time: A. Post in climate forums on FB B. Reading Blue Sky posts by experts C. Canvassing D2D for Dems D. Being an active member of CCL E. Start compost at community garden F. Other______ (%’s ok) People want to help but don’t know how. Modeling on this?

Went down an AI rabbit hole (Gemini)… Started by asking why gas prices aren’t higher given geopolitics. Gemini consistently started with oil/gas talking points as first response, then backed away from them under questioning. When I asked about this pattern, it assigned it to its “risk filter”…

I know this is not scientific but… Has anyone ever done an analysis of the percentage of newscasts that cover climate related stories & how that’s changed over time? I watch Good Morning America every morning & the first half hour is dominated by climate related stories. Climate is the new news.

New survey research released today with @mattomildenberger.bsky.social -- a response to the "don't say climate change" crowd. Many have observed that climate change has moved down voters' list of priorities and have concluded that pro-climate policies would cost votes. That's testable! 🧵[1/13]

Love this. It is amazing how much coverage there is about the extreme weather & how to protect yourself from it AND NOTHING about the fact that we are causing it & what we could do to fix it. Humans are something.

The best argument against something being impossible is someone doing it. We have seen the reality in Australia, Pakistan, China and many other places to address the lies of what’s impossible. Americans need to reset their limit of what’s impossible from what they’re told to what they can imagine.

This is murder, no different than shooting someone in the back or in the head as they drive away, accept that she was 7 (sic). We cannot get used to this or numb to it or it is who we are. So sorry.

This hits hard. It’s easy to become numb. But then the reality of what we are talking about comes into focus. It really is that bad. If you turn away, you’re leaving your humanity behind. I don’t know if the girls were as young as the ones in the cartoon but doesn’t matter. They were too young.

ABC News spends a 1 minute on the resignation of 8 DOJ lawyers in MN, testimony of Renee Good’s brothers & other US citizens abused by ICE. A minute thirty on the President’s call to have the national government administer elections. Then over 10 minutes on the new Disney CEO. Tone deaf.

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi. He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael. At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk. Wael died on Friday at age 30. ICE caused his death. They didn’t get to say goodbye.

And yet: It didn’t air on the actual show tonight. CBS did post it to YouTube—and it has nearly 800k views already youtu.be/6ywLEESFDu0?...

Totally agree. There is a violent (Koshogee) and anti-democratic (a billion $ to Trump) syndicate that is destroying our future (climate change). Every time you fill up your tank, light up the furnace or flip a FF electrical switch, you are making a donation to their cause. We must cut them off.

So the “closed” daycares…were closed during the last week of the year, during which most daycares are closed. And the doors were “locked,” which they are at every daycare. And they wouldn’t let in a “journalist” with a camera…which they wouldn’t do at any daycare. Got it.

Ok EV World… My ID4 loses 1/3 of its range & charges 40% slower in the cold (a very bad combination for winter road trips). Was it just bad design by VW to not include heat pump? I assume they just heat the battery, right? Doesn’t anything heat up when car is on the road that could heat battery?

Money in politics is not the source of all evil but it’s a big piece of the pie. Why do fossil fuel companies need to pay politicians $1 billion? What’s the alternative they are fighting against? It’s simple. They’re fighting against the will of the American people with $1 billion club. Shameful.

Killing science, stealing cures? Either way, so true & so sad. There’s a lot of reasons we got here, but one is that we left too many people behind. Most Americans don’t know the benefits that come from science. Whatever it is, it’s not helping me. People need to know the benefits it brings.

This graph says a lot. First, Republicans are more satisfied when there’s a Republican President than Democrats are with a Dem President. Second, Independents are more satisfied under Trump now than they ever were with Biden. Dems need to start focusing on being effective more than right.

Honestly, this may be one of the most important media graphs I've ever seen. The claim: Democrats keep using annoying words. The data: Republicans CLAIMS Democrats use them, which then becomes the narratives. Then centrists attack DEMS for things GOPer CLAIM they say, not GOP for making stuff up.
