Instead, we find that pro-climate voters are much more likely to factor the issue into their vote decision than anti-climate voters -- only 11% oppose climate action AND vote on it. This "heat map" shows how climate voters are distributed. [9/13]

New survey research released today with @mattomildenberger.bsky.social -- a response to the "don't say climate change" crowd. Many have observed that climate change has moved down voters' list of priorities and have concluded that pro-climate policies would cost votes. That's testable! 🧵[1/13]

CBC has projected a "liberal government" in Canada in which means it's time for my pedantic every four year gripe with Canadian media that you cannot project a government based on seat count until they cross the majority threshold.

Thinking about my mentor and friend Stephen Clarkson, who would be flabbergasted by "North American" politics now. But he'd feel vindicated by our 2011 book Dependent America?, which previewed how much US economic power and security depends on Canada and Mexico. utppublishing.com/doi/book/10....

All of this from @pastpunditry.bsky.social. The crisis is not *legible*. Even politically attentive people have no idea - the media are not conveying the scope and magnitude of what's happening. It has to be made legible through political and institutional resistance, not passivity and resignations.

I'm sorry - they are really thinking about nominating another House Republican for an admin position (Graves to FAA???). I'm sure Johnson can pass a massive reconciliation bill in the first 100 days with a 216-215 house majority, easiest lift for a house speaker ever.

Mobilization against federal retrenchment creates unexpected political coalitions. A California EV tax credit that excludes Tesla is one such example. Will be interesting to see how much states spend and do that can only happen in opposition to federal inaction. www.reuters.com/business/aut...

Yes! Every time I tell people this, they are shocked. Most are under the impression that nothing has been done: and this literally feeds inaction. Our human bias towards bad news getting the most clicks and shares means that information that builds efficacy remains disproportionately unshared.
