All our district republicans have taken ALL party affiliation off their campaign comms, lol. They’re still republicans, they’re just afraid of saying it because nobody wants to vote for republicans and they know it

White Substack writers basically revolted against Pangram being integrated into the platform months ago. Numerous articles reported that these writers fed their own work into Pangram, and the platform flagged it as AI. The question is-- do you people trust machines over people? Over yourselves?

My response is generally to laugh because honestly they don't have the numbers to do it They like to pretend every Republican voter is going to arm up and roll on some liberals but that's just not going to happen. And Republican voters are like 12% of the population

Six days after ICE shot him in the Bronx, Oscar Belgal remains in MDC Brooklyn, and still hasn’t gotten surgery to remove the bullet in his neck. “He has experienced a loss of sensation in half of his face, as well as hearing loss in his left ear.” Gift link: www.nydailynews.com/2026/10/14/l...

ICE never identified themselves during NYC shooting of Oscar Belgal, who still has bullet in neck: lawyers
The Legal Aid Society, which now represents the 28-year-old father, filed a habeas corpus petition in Brooklyn Federal Court Wednesday, seeking his “immediate release on reasonable conditions.”

I asked the BOP about the medical care given to the ICE detainees at MDC Brooklyn, and if it differs from non-ICE detainees. Asked if the med staff, sick call system was the same, and the current size of med staff. Here's my qs and BOP's response, which largely ignores my specific requests.
Good afternoon,

In newly-filed court documents, lawyers for Oscar Belgal (also listed as Oscar Bergal on some documents), who was shot by an ICE agent in the Bronx on Thursday, is saying that he still hasn't had the bullet removed from his neck and hasn't received surgery, as he remains held at MDC Brooklyn.

Can you comment on that claim, and if it's accurate?

More generally, I have a few questions about medical care as it pertains to ICE detainees at MDC Brooklyn.

-- Do ICE detainees have access to the same medical services, including the sick call system, as non-ICE inmates at MDC? Are they handled by the same medical staff, and if not, who handles their medical issues?

-- Back in June, you told me that MDC Brooklyn employs 2 doctors (Dr. Bruce Bialor and Dr. Rame Awd) and 5 nurses. Is that still accurate, or have those numbers changed?

-- Are the ICE detainees included in the MDC Brooklyn population count listed on the BOP web site? How many ICE detainees are currently held in MDC Brooklyn?
--

John Annese Hello,

While for privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including quarters assignment or medical status, we can provide you with the following general response.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) does not deny any inmate necessary medical treatment or basic necessities, such as access to three meals per day, drinking water, clothing, or daily access to medical and psychological care.

The BOP takes our duty seriously to protect the individuals entrusted to our custody, as well as maintain the safety of correctional employees and the community. We make every effort to ensure the physical safety and health of the individuals confined to our facilities through a controlled environment that is secure and humane.

The BOP provides essential medical, dental, and mental health (psychiatric) services in accordance with BOP Program Statement 6010.06 "Health Services Administration" found here: https://www.bop.gov/policy/progstat/6010_006.pdf. All individuals in our custody have access to chronic medical care and appointments, as well as urgent and emergent evaluations when needed. Each patient is independently assessed based on their unique health care needs, and community standard, patient-centered treatment is provided as clinically indicated. A basic overview of the BOP's provision of health services can be found on our website here: https://www.bop.gov/inmates/custody_and_care/.

Thank you.

Emery Nelson,

"just squeeze more money from the layabout poors!" is to the right as "just tax the super-rich more" to the left except they keep actually being empowered to do it and the results are evil as well as useless

Like even if Ukraine "loses" then Russia just sets itself up for the same kind of insurgency that Assad faced lol
000
Mitchell Horton @jarlent.bsky.social · 21h
They aren't even close to comparable situations. Russia is far more likely to collapse than Ukraine is; defensive actions against outside aggressors inherently favor the defender, and the longer it goes the more it favors the defender.

That's not at all what this article is saying is going to happen Also unclear why you'd assume Ukraine is under threat of "total collapse"
