Het grauwe kiekendieven broedseizoen ziet er rooskleurig uit, er zijn namelijk een recordaantal van 61 nesten beschermd tot nu toe, waarvan 40 in Nederland en 21 in Duitsland (Rheiderland)! Daarmee is het vorige record uit 2020 van 50 nesten geheel verpletterd. grauwekiekendief.nl/news_posts/d...

The Hummingbird hawk-moth (kolibrievlinder, M stellatarum) has a good year on Dutch Butterfly Monitoring transects, where day-active moths are also counted. The Six-spot Burnet had its peak much earlier than usual, the Mother Shipton (mi-vlinder, C mi) interestingly was later than usual.

Distribution- (occupancy-) trend tells a different story than the population trend. The distribution of the Gatekeeper (P tithonus, oranje zandoogje) in NL is stable, where the populationsize has declined with 70% between 1992 and 2010.

Vogels die hun vleugels laten hangen of omvallen, draaien met hun kop, of een blauwe waas over hun ogen hebben. Vogelgriep: al wekenlang horen en lezen we over het dodelijke virus. Het aantal pluimveehouderijen dat vogels 'ruimt', neemt in een schrikbarend hoog tempo toe. Wilde vogels krijgen hier steeds vaker de schuld van. Maar dit is een vals frame, dat de werkelijkheid omdraait.

Grauwe zenderkiek Erben is een week geleden in Marokko aangekomen en heeft afgelopen weekend hemelsbreed zo’n 750 km afgelegd door het land. Huub is ook in Marokko en maakt een stop tussen Matarka en Ain Bni Matar. Het bekende stopovergebied waar ook de Marokko-expedities van GKA naartoe gingen!
