I'm reworking our KS3 migration enquiry. Can any History teachers recommend any good reading or textbooks? Thanks!

This will be great. It was such a great approach to teaching the enquiry. Engaging and memorable for the students and really good to get into an example in depth.

Removal Reluctance
I had to remove a student for disrupting my lesson. But, like many teachers, my reluctance to do so meant I removed them too late. Here’s why, and what I should have done differently.

Sad not to be at this year's HA conference, and looking forward to hearing all about it from @petejackson.bsky.social on Monday. On the plus side, it's a lovely day to recce our Y7 site study trip to Rievaulx Abbey!

It'd be a pleasure to share Tom's post even without the opportunity to win three of his books. He writes excellent, well researched historical fiction for young people. Highly recommend to history teachers, parents and anyone who enjoys a good story!

It's a real privilege mentoring beginning teachers and helping them embark on their first steps as History teachers. So proud of @lydiawigley.bsky.social and all that she has achieved so far. And I love that we will meet again as part of the big History teaching community.

Leon's story is at the centre of our Y9 Holocaust lessons and telling it is such a moving moment for me as a teacher and so powerful for our students. It's so important that we keep telling these stories. And thanks to the @uclholocaust.bsky.social for all their help with resources and CPD.

This shows a fundamental misunderstanding of why homework is done. Doing the homework, thinking, should support learning. This seems to suggest the purpose of homwork is just to generate the work. A culture of doing, not learning. Thinking matters. inews.co.uk/news/childre...

This will be great! I'm really enjoying using these stories with GCSE students to help them really understand the period.
