Mark Butcher is Reform UK's candidate in Claremont, Blackpool, standing tomorrow. He's seen here with a group intimidating a council worker taking flags down. A worker, just doing his job. That's him climbing the ladder. Just think how a he would treat council staff if he was a councillor.

That City spent huge amounts of money knowing they'd been found guilty shows all that's wrong with the team. There is speculation that the appeals process could extend for one to two years, during which time City might secure both the league and Champions League titles, undermining their integrity.

Europe-Russie: la tension monte #ukraine #DessinDePresse pour l'Opinion sur un article de Clément Daniez & Simon Carraud à lire ici : inkd.in/eFjCK79X
This political cartoon, created by the artist Kak for the French newspaper l'Opinion, satirizes the European Union's response to Russian hybrid warfare.
Symbolism and Meaning
• The Russian Ship: Flying the Russian flag alongside a pirate flag, the ship represents Moscow launching aggressive operations. The cannon fire labeled "BOM BOM BOM" represents hybrid attacks—such as cyber warfare, sabotage, disinformation campaigns, and political destabilization—targeting European nations.
• The Castle on the Cliff: Adorned with the European Union flag, the fortress represents the EU. It is situated high up, isolated, and visibly out of touch with the reality below.
• The Collapsing Cliff: Instead of firing directly at the castle walls, the Russian ship is blasting away at the rock foundation beneath it. The cliff is rapidly eroding and collapsing, threatening the entire structure.
• The Dialogue: A figure inside the castle looks out and naively remarks, "Ils ne nous tirent pas vraiment dessus" ("They're not really shooting at us").

I find the save water advert patronising and creepy. A kid breaking through a bathroom wall where an adult is showering, then increasing the flow of cold water. I thought the idea was to save water, not use more. Then again, had the child turned the cold water off, the adult would be scalded🤷

This is *not* the result of "the success of Mahmood's reforms", but of earlier measures/other factors. Her proposals could make it considerably *worse* in future years. A few other points linked below.. archive.ph/0psJ8
Falling migration numbers could cost the chancellor as much as £7bn in fiscal headroom as he writes his first budget, The Times has been told.

Government insiders believe that John Healey, who already faced an uphill battle to balance the books next month, is likely to have an even bigger challenge after immigration significantly undershot projections from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).

The Institute for Fiscal Studies think tank estimated last month that the success of Shabana Mahmood’s reforms, which have seen net migration cut to the low hundreds of thousands, could cost Healey some £4bn.

Labour sources familiar with the budget process, however, said that the figure was now closer to £6.5bn. The OBR’s migration forecasts have been consistently higher than real numbers in recent years.

Treasury officials, who have long expected Mahmood’s reforms to cause a hit to headroom, described the number as “pure speculation” but did not deny that Healey would have to contend with a larger funding gap than expected because of falling migration
