It was a treat to work on this volume. Who doesn't love Xiaolan?! You get to see our girl in a new way! I'm particularly intrigued by a certain new character... Can't wait to work on more volumes to see what happens with them.

Wow, congrats! That's such a cool project for you to have worked on. I played in English, but now I'm curious about the JP. I'll have to find someone else to play it with and try Japanese next time.

Friendly reminder that Duolingo was initially concieved to trick people into translating articles for free, which they later used as training data for MTL algorithms. Duolingo's primary purpose has NEVER been about teaching you a language, even from the start! slate.com/technology/2...
If it doesn’t charge users and, so far, doesn’t serve them any ads, how does Duolingo make money? It tricks you into working as an unpaid translation service. At the end of some lessons, Duolingo will ask you if you want to practice by translating a real-world document. Which will turn out to be, say, a BuzzFeed article. By melding together enough stabs at this task from high-level Duolingo users, the app can render a surprisingly accurate translation. Which is worth good money. So far, Duolingo has contracts with BuzzFeed and CNN to translate stories from English into languages such as Spanish, French, and Portuguese. This service is already earning Duolingo hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, but von Ahn predicts he will be adding a raft of new clients soon. “The language translations market is huge,” he says. “It’s a $30 billion per year market.”

The game is an amazing experience overall. I don't think there's any game quite like it. We're now exploring other co-op games to play together online. If you have recs, let me know.

Sure, the story and some dialogue was very cheesy. And the story overall was somewhat predictable. A few aspects felt repetitive at times, and there were just a few places we felt the need to look things up because the solution wasn't as obvious as I think the devs thought.

I finally found someone to play Split Fiction with, and we finished it this past weekend. Amazing game. I don't normally rate games, but this one is a 9.5/10. It's so unique, charming, and exciting. It's also the only game that's ever made me laugh this hard.

This is a nice little interview. There's also a point that's already been said, but it could be good for fans to have a reminder. "I want to make one correction. I know that is what is written on the publishing, that it is an ancient China story, but it isn’t actually an ancient China story."

one question of the survey, with 9 checkbox options:

What concerns, if any, do you have about AI-assisted manga translations? (Select all that apply.)
*
1. Lower overall quality
2. Loss of respect for readers
3. Loss of respect for creators
4. Character personalities changing
5. Cultural references being mistranslated
6. Less work for human translators
7. Ethical concerns
8. Legal concerns
Other: (I typed in: environmental concerns, worse than a fresh human translation)
