I sometimes wonder how many Wikipedia articles I'm cited in due to my work at ANN.

Totally fair, maras. I get you.

Yoshi loves his fruits and veggies.

Suddenly remembered a bizarre comment I got years ago while working at ANN. The other person working there at the time who also went to Oberlin got a similar comment. Never forget that people online are just plain strange sometimes and aren't worth a second thought.

Kayaking in nature is good for you. I'm not even a boat person, but you can't beat the tranquility.

Blue kayak on still reservoir with a sunset peeking out behind trees in the distance.

This just came up in my memories, so shout-out to the time I climbed Mt. Fuji in an FMA hoodie. (And got lost and was only semi-conscious at the top for a while.) I still have the stick. 🗻

And, if I'm talking about this series, I have to mention that it's a color manga in a unique style! It's uncommon for color manga to get released in English because of the increased costs, but it was so worth it for this unique and incredibly fun book. This is such a unique release. Enjoy!

The most amazing detail of all might be the sprayed edges designed in-house. How much cuter can you get? This is also a very rare feature in manga, so I'm so glad we could include it.

Jennifer Sherman @jaasherman.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

This is rare for manga, but we were able to include French flaps! Open the flaps, and you get to see purrific printing on the backs of the covers, too.

This book is approved by multiple cats at Square Enix Manga & Books. If that seal of approval isn't enough, we've got an amazing cover design incorporating original elements with elements from both volumes of the series. There's spot UV to highlight some adorable details.

A couple of weeks after its release, I'm finally getting to most more about A Cat Is a Cat in Any Life. Do you want fantastical fun full of furry friends? This manga about a cat reborn in a world with no cats is for you 🐾! I'm going to highlight some of the unique features of our 2-in-1 book~

It was great to see the Tekkonkinkreet screening for the film's 20th anniversary. If I'm honest, I'd forgotten a lot of the details of the film, but the 4K remaster really drove home the pure artistry. It's a marvel in its own right. My chinchillas are named after the leads, and Kuro is also 20.

Happy Dragon Quest Day to all those who celebrate ⚔️

In case you missed it, Dragon Quest: The Mark of Erdrick has continuous spine art! I can't wait till I have it all as a display piece on my shelf. We took the continuous art from the original 21-volume edition of the series never published in English. It's a great manga, and the design alone is 💯.

I was having sort of a rough day the other day, and I got an unexpected little package. It was just what I needed, but here's the thing. Without talking about it, we both somehow sent each other a package that arrived on the same day!?! Life is weird. Keep doing little nice things for your friends.

Happy 30th birthday, Pokémon! You've made all our lives a little bit more fun. I could go on, but for now, here's a picture from November of the Pokémon manhole cover at the Nintendo Museum. And, yes, I wore my Eeveelution sweatshirt today.

Here are many of the projects I've worked on that released in 2025. The list includes Wash It All Away, A Man and His Cat, Dragon Quest: The Mark of Erdrick, The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses, Just Like Mona Lisa, Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You, and The Apothecary Diaries novels (print).

This is some of my favorite every art from a manga I work on. I had to frame a copy of it! Also, you should be reading A Man and His Cat! Hope you're having a good holiday season!

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to see and hear one legend and see the work of another. During this Japan-themed weekend, I also saw a coworker from my Japan-related imprint and had meetings related to the JET Program/JETAA.

Because I just got my comps in and the word is already out there, I thought I'd take this opportunity to confirm I'm editing Dragon Quest: The Mark of Erdrick. It's a great manga, and I'm excited it's finally getting an English release after all these years!

I had the honor of representing JETAA USA as Country Representative at CanCon in Halifax this weekend. There was a lot of great discussion among all the international alumni present. Great job, everyone!

It's #DragonQuestDay, so here's a DQ story. I first played Dragon Warrior on NES when I was too little to understand it, but I remember battling slimes! Skip ahead a few years and many games, and I edited Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. Now I'm an editor for Square Enix Manga & Books. Who knew?

It drives me batty when I hear people in the gaming industry or JP pop culture media report on things and use the wrong term for who they're talking about.

Somehow, I've reached a new peak of stress for the year. With everything going on, I did manage to see this last weekend, though.

I saw the 4K IMAX release of Princess Mononoke this week on my birthday. It's my favorite movie, so I have to give it 12/10. Tix are selling out fast for remaining showings, and you need to see this. Go. Also, now is the best time to support REAL Ghibli releases and products rather than fake trash.

On this ACNH anniversary, I coincidentally saw a good deal on the Julian LEGO set. He's my favorite villager, so I had to finally get this set even though I only care about the minifig. It's also fitting since it's a bday set, and my bday is in a week. Julian is the best 🦄

A lot has been going on, so I didn't get around to posting last year's projects when it was actually 2024. Here are some of my projects that shipped last year. Something something Valentine's Day. Show your books some love. 💜

Tonight I made 練り切り (nerikiri) with Great Lakes JETAA. It might be more important than ever to find time for new activities. This was such a unique experience. You never know what might come your way as a member of JETAAUSA. I'd encourage everyone to find your community and practice new skills.

This was a holiday journey. I have this vintage American Girl doll Christmas tree set that I haven't gotten out it a few years because it takes time to set up. I've always wanted to try stained glass cookies, but I don't have any cookie cutters...

Time for a holiday cautionary tale... When you buy discount holiday candy, remember not to hide it *too* well. I had a tiny heartbreak when I rediscovered this would-be yummy chocolate recently. Would've been delicious about six months ago...if it hadn't suffered the summer heat in an attic 😢

I almost forgot to post it on here: I'm working on the print release for this series! It's great. Maomao is an amazing protagonist. Can't wait to keep going with these LNs 🍃
