That's interesting. It's not what I've observed in my demographic (parent of school aged kids) in multiple communities. Perhaps the pattern is different in more affordable housing markets, or where jobs are harder to come by?

It's much more expensive to rent or buy homes near robust employment centers and near good public transportation, in great part I think that people are increasingly valuing urban culture and amenities, easy commutes, and car-free living.
