The comedy we make at LRR… y'know, it could destroy civilization. It's simply SO funny, funnier than any human could conceive, it might be the end of all things. Obviously we're excited, but we also want to acknowledge that our comedy is simply too powerful and there is no choice but to submit.

Hey, guess who's done with her Desert Bus Craftalong prize for this year?? @desertbus.org #DB20 #DB2026 #DBCraftalong

Two characters from Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth, standing across from each other at a tiny chess board. The whole scene is captured in a small diorama case meant for storing a baseball. A pretty wooden floor is made with maple veneer.

Close ups of the two characters, from before the glass covering was added. Phoenix looks thoughtful, and Miles relaxed.

The diorama sitting on a stack of papers for scale. The top paper is Edgeworth inviting Phoenix to chess, presumably. The text is "lorem ipsum" gibberish, but the addresses are silly things poking fun at the English localization.

The diorama shelved between Nintendo DS games and manga books, for scale. All are Phoenix Wright themed. The Slash 2 character ship creation board game is just in shot on the right of the photo. This was certainly not an absolutely intentional choice, no ma'am.

Is it just me, or do other people find "influencer"-style ads kind of irritating? I'm talking like person crinkling or tapping bags on screen, person talking about how "and you know we start our day with X" fake journaling to camera, etc. I noticed once and now it's just a mental splinter.

Recently went through Yokoyama's adaptation of Suikoden and was struck by how much of the cast was represented in Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still. For those interested, I put together a quick reference chart comparing the original manga incarnations with their OVA counterparts!

Yasuhiro Imagawa’s 7 episode OVA Series Giant Robo(1992 - 1998) features many characters from manga by Mitsuteru Yokoyama. Of these, his 1967 - 1971 adaptation of Suikoden (The Water Margin) is quantitatively the best represented. The following is a reference key for IDing characters that appear in both works.

3 Wu Yong the Resourceful Wisdom Star - Professor Go

4 Gongsun Sheng the Dragon in the Clouds Leisure Star - Issei the Taoist Monk

8 Huyan Zhuo The Double Clubs Prestige Star - Ko-Enshaku

9 Hua Rong the Little Li Guang Hero Star - Shoriko no Kaiei

17 Yang Zhi the Blue-Faced Beast Dark Star - Yoshi The Blue-Faced Beast

20 Dai Zong the Magic Traveller Speedster Star - Taisou The Spiritual Buddhist

22 Li Kui the Black Whirlwind Killer Star "Iron Ox" - Tetsugyu

38 Huang Xin the Guardian of 3 Mountains Malignant Star - Koushin chin Sanzan

61 Fan Rui the Demon Lord of Chaos Correct Star - Hanzui The Evil Messiah

87 Zhou Tong the Little Conqueror Empty Star - Shutsu

27 Ruan Xiaoer the Tai Su who stands his ground, Sword Star, No. 29 Ruan Xiaowu the Short-Lived 2nd Brother, Guilt Star, No. 31 Ruan Xiaoqi the Living King Yama, Defeat Star - Gen Brothers Shoji, Shogo, and Sochiji

34 Xie Zhen the Double Headed Snake, Savage Star No. 35 Xie Bao the Twin-Tailer Scorpion, Crying Star - Ryotoda no Kaichin and Sobikatsu no Kaiho

While not listed in the liner notes, I have included the below possible relevant connections. Hu Sanniang, for being the most prominent woman in The Water Margin and holding the title of the “10-Feet of Blue” feels like she may have informed Yoshi, and Han Tao’s distinctive face mask resembles the one worn by Zangetsu the Midday.

59 Hu Sanniang the 10-Feet of Blue Bright Star - Yoshi The Blue-Faced Beast

42 Han Tao the General of 100 Victories Majestic Star - Zangetsu the Midday

One more thing about the illegal meat orb factory: the way they'd get materials for meatballs is by giving butchers a discount on ball orders in exchange for any extra flesh they have lying around it's a fucking cycle of meat facilitated by an unmarked white van driving along i95.

I think it is very reasonable to buy balls for $7.99/lb but it sure is not $0.00/lb because too many flesh orbs were extruded at the meat amalgam sphere manufacturing facility that violated federal, state, and city laws because it's in the basement of a residential building.
