New paper out in Nucleic Acids Research @narjournal.bsky.social 🧬 We show that RhsF, a T6SS-delivered Rhs toxin from Chromobacterium violaceum, is an ADP-ribosyltransferase (TreThr) that selectively modifies charged tRNAThr(GGU), blocking ACC codon decoding. academic.oup.com/nar/article/...

Many cellular innovations later used by animals were assembled long before animals evolved. We show that aerobic plasmalogen biosynthesis likely entered eukaryotes early from Myxobacteria, highlighting how bacterial genes shaped the cellular landscape from which animals emerged. 🧬✨ #protistsOnSky

📝Thrilled to share that part of my PhD work has been published in @narjournal.bsky.social 🧬 We discovered a new peroxide stress regulator named PexR, conserved across Myxococcota and beyond. 🔬It senses H₂O₂ through a metal-binding GAF domain, acting unlike classic OxyR/PerR systems.
