their clothes are so tiny and yet they produce so much laundry. I’m so glad we were able to move to a place where we have our own washer/dryer in the kitchen, vs where we were before with a shared laundry room (that was always hotter than the sun)

I don’t know how representative this anecdote is of fake allegations. but I always think of it when this comes up. he always said he would still rather the default be to believe allegations, because they are usually true, and what he suffered was not as bad as what rape survivors suffer.

this accusation made it to other people in the friend group (they were all around 18–20) and of course that was rough for my ex’s friend. but when he told me about all this later, he said he understood and was not mad at her. he said it was really rough and unpleasant but did not ruin his life.

my ex-husband had a friend who was falsely accused of rape. he had sex with a woman after she broke up with an abusive boyfriend. she later went back to him and when he found out she’d slept with this other guy, she told him she’d been raped because he was livid and she was terrified.
