The RNLI rescued Luftwaffe pilots in WW2 because the organisation is there to 'save life at sea' - it's something to be immensely proud of. Two hours or two trains either side is the policy, but the two trains is usually the operators that have a large gap in service. Taken an age to get it to the point where every operator will accept each other with a cancellation but least its got there in the end.

One very large company is experiencing that currently - outsourced a lot of their facilities but the depts were a mess and just helped each other out without that being recorded. Now everything has a cost and the contract has burnt through it's year budget and then some as a result.

I miss this optimism. EES is a fucking joke everywhere we go (and noone shouts about that) so a delay for that - to then suffer a train delay when it was authorised into the station so we are just stuck in the eurostar waiting area, not that theres been ANY announcements to delays.
