This should be so obvious that it doesn’t need to be said, but given what kind of weekend it’s been on here, apparently it does: If you don’t want old rapists running the world, in office, in the board room, making decisions for all of us get comfortable with “ruining” young rapists’ lives

[A parody of MR ROGERS’ NEIGHBOURHOOD, in which the kindly Mr Rogers takes us to see local things in his town.]

1
[title]
MR ROGERS’ NEIGHBOURHOOD

MR ROGERS:

Hi there

2
Today, I’d like to take you to visit some of my neighbours…

[He puts his coat on to leave his house]

3
At a wonderful local event,

[We see the cute toy-town diorama of his village famous from the TV show. The camera pulls out…]

4
The Data Center protest.

[The camera has pulled out further and now we see a huge DATA CENTER at the edge of town].

5
MR ROGERS [joining a crowd protesting outside the Data Center]:

The Data Center is an enormous, windowless, endlessly humming building outside of our town

6
…Which has tripled energy prices, drank all the water, and created four jobs.

7
[to camera, as if kindly explaining to the viewing children]:

Four jobs! Golly!

8
LADY PROTESTOR [probably NAOMI KLEIN, holding a sign]:

In a way, the Data Center is kind of a vivid metaphor for a future we feel locked out of!

9
MR ROGERS [to camera again]:

A metaphor.

10
That’s something that lets us clarify our feelings about something else.

11
LADY PROTESTOR:
How do you feel, Mr Rogers?

MR ROGERS:
I feel like bringing down the government!

12
MR ROGERS [now holding a sign and protesting]:

It’s good to have neighbors.

[ends]

Meet Sir Rox-a-Lot, your history teacher! Roxy's here to pass on entirely unbiased knowledge about events such as World War II, the War of Northern Aggression, and the War on Drugs. ...yikes. The Edutainment Vortex Diner releases Dec 7 for free on PC. store.steampowered.com/app/4993020/...
Screenshot of a knight in shiny armor with messy blonde hair, sitting in a diner which is also an outdoor ampitheater next to a castle. All of this is rendered using text symbols. Dialogue: I am Sir Rox-a-Lot, your noble champion of all things historically educational, and totally awesome!

More late night angst-ing, adoptee edition: It's the birthday of one of my adoptive cousins today. I almost texted her to wish her happy birthday. Except I realized our most recent text exchange was on her birthday last year. Which, notably, occurs earlier in the calendar year than mine. So... 🤐 🥚

Late night angsty posting: My adoptive dad had sleep apnea. I know this because I witnessed him stop breathing in his sleep multiple times and woke him up to get him breathing at least twice. I now have a CPAP machine for my own sleep apnea and it BOGGLES MY MIND that my dad refused to use his.

E.B. White's Stuart Little turned me inside out, and it took me decades to understand why. It was because the idea of a child utterly unlike his parents embarking on a quest for reunion brought out feelings about my #adoption that I had no other way to articulate, and no one in whom to confide them.

Dolly Parton dying hits so hard. She felt like one of those figures who always was and always will be. She felt like America when it was trying to be the place it promised to be. As beloved as her music is, it’s even better than people give it credit for. There won’t be another one like her.

the old cliche is true as fuck here, truer than it has ever been - we do not mourn the passing of those who lived rich, full lives, that bettered those around them and brought sunshine wherever they went, but rather we celebrate that they were with us, and that we were blessed to live in their time.

This photo makes the case look a lot more pink than the purple it actually is, but I've decorated my new laptop! Appearances by @desertbus.org, @printinkling.bsky.social, DecaffedEspresso, my friend Liv, and my local gay bookstore Riverbend Bookshop!
A photo of the top cover of my laptop. The case is a pinkish purple and is covered in stickers.
Top row, left to right:
Trans Industrial Complex Local 69 written around a gear with the trans pride flag behind it. A yellow cartoon kitty and a white cartoon bear holding a heart between them with two little hearts coming up above them. A blue and white square reading "Bear In Area" with a little white bear popping out of a hole.
Middle row, left to right: A happy looking cartoon seagull and the text "Always Looking For Snacks". A drawing of a gray racoon in a rainbow propeller beanie with the text "1 thought per sometimes". The Desert Bus 2025 Alien Abduction logo. A drawing of a Canadian goose in a straight jacket with the text "Got too silly. And I'll do it again." The @printinkling.bsky.social black and white guillotine builders union sticker.
Bottom row, left to right: A gnome in a green jacket and red hat holding his arms out with a rainbow over his head (very SpongeBob "imagination" style). A circular sticker with an open pink book in its center with a rainbow forming between the pages and the text "I like to read banned books & gain forbidden knowledge" around the edges of the circle. A rubber ducky in the colors of the progress pride flag.

I've had to unfriend a few fans lately, all for the same reason. They made ridiculing, unkind, and in some cases outright cruel comments about pictures I posted of young women cosplaying Jessica.
More than a person, Jessica is a state of mind. To play Jessica, you need self -confidence, a sense of humor, and a Jessican -attitude-. There is no such thing as a Jessica cosplayer being too short, too flat chested, too heavy, too thin, too unattractive, too black, too Asian, or even too male!!! All Jessica, any Jessica, every Jessica is good Jessica.
I'm not giving any warnings or second chances. A single disparaging comment on a Jessica cosplayer, and I'm throwing you out of the rainbow colored Toontown Tent.
