Very saddened to share this fundraiser for an old friend Antar from Gaza who I have lived with and written about. He has been living with HIV for many years and has now been diagnosed with Lymphoma. He is in Istanbul with limited rights and access to treatment.

Part of the problem that many liberal Zionists have not fully dealt with is that if "liberal Zionism" means anything, it has to mean full support for a two-state solution, which puts you in opposition not just to Netanyahu, but to every Israeli political party except Hadash and the Arab parties.

Israel is on a destructive and self-destructive spiral and it cannot break out of it without external intervention. Those who are shielding Israel from accountability form a much greater risk to the future of Jewish Israeli society (and diaspora Jews) than critics like Mamdani.
