I just recently discovered this on ernie gilbert’s linkedin: a patrick movie was in the works in 2024 but unfortunately it got cancelled for currently unknown reasons it was gonna be in 3D like the rest of the modern spongebob movies and it’s currently unconfirmed if it was tied to the patrick show

Bob Boyle (creator of Wubbzy, Yin Yang Yo, Chico Bon Bon, also worked on FOP, Clarence, PPG 2016, and RPS) has retired from the animation industry after 30+ years. Sad to see another legendary creator retire amidst the industry’s struggles rn but whatever the reason may be, congrats on retirement! ❤️

I can see why NAS has a different state since spongebob+pat show are too profitable to end and both just got renewed even without QOS, a kidscreen report from last year said that kids media is harder to monetize these days so they’ve been going downhill regardless (and now shell’s out as well, so…)

it’s very rainy in NJ today. not that I’m the most spiritual person, but between all the deaths this week, this must be a sign that even nature is upset right now too….

Remember when rumors about Arlene Klasky retiring and closing the Klasky-Csupo building were going around in 2024? I spoke to Matt Dean who worked on the Splaat vids and he did confirm that she indeed retired due to a current health condition. She’s fine thankfully, just focusing on her health atm.

according to a former pixar story artist who also got let go in 2024, AI has NOTHING to do with the layoffs btw, it’s cause d’amaro era disney pressured them to slash their budgets in order to appease shareholders and catch up to other studios who were making more successful films with lower budgets

ladies and gentlemen, cartoonlounge revealed what might be the finale of the loud house as a whole since several industry people I know confirmed that it’s no longer in production… and based on the episode description it kinda reads as an endpoint to me since it’s about reflecting on past memories….

oh yep it absolutely is unfortunately and not shocking either given that’s what mergers tend to do and the current nick animation prez alec botnick is also prez of CBS animation so now it’s basically being treated as CBS’ kids label, an ex-MTV employee hinted and warned people about it since january

the new garfield reboot is currently on a production pause and the crew who worked on it are not at nick anymore and they’re pretty much gonna be releasing the episodes that got completed…. close enough welcome back glitch techs!!

it's a good thing I'm on this ninjago episode now (S3 episode 5) cause this is a pretty profound quote to keep in mind especially with the really twisted and utterly fucked up timeline that we're living in right now.... 😳

010 1

Sasha @imindanger.bsky.social · 14/02/2026

he and almost everyone else who worked on it are out of jobs now tho so don’t get giddy about this lindsay katai said the same thing about ANW in which she was just put on read about the status of that show only to later confirm that it was indeed cancelled as the skydance merger affected nick hard

0129 12

Sasha @imindanger.bsky.social · 14/02/2026

I would feel a sense of relief since it’s been thru a LOT of pains both within and outside the show but this is just sad more than anything else. Even if it’s not officially cancelled, someone who worked on it since the BEGINNING is also leaving Nick soon so this further raises red flags regardless…

well tbf the main reason is that paramount themselves laid off their internal awards team after the merger therefore not giving their potential awards contender film roofman a campaign anymore so they have no one to blame but themselves lmao

only 3 new officially confirmed shows so far are coming to nickelodeon in the future.... (and maybe that new garfield project might finally come out next year too according to frank welker's resume)

it makes extra sense if you’ve seen search for squarepants! and honestly I’m so glad they added that clever jab towards paramount too cause more of their IPs besides south park should get back at them and put them in their place…. ;)
