NYT has now independently corroborated all the major allegations against Susan Collins in the ProPublica report, including that investigators were prepared to move against her and then Trump intervened to shut it down. This put Trump in a position of exceptional and extortionate leverage over her.

Scientist here: It is widely known inside science that this—top-down imposition of a research agenda—leads to mostly rote, boring, non-innovative work. Building an institute to do discovery science is hard: you hire young people, put them together, hope synergies arise and ideas fall out.

We picked up Korra from West Suburban Humane Society last Sunday. She's about 2 yrs old. She needs training to help with separation anxiety and greeting dogs. She has settled down a lot since Sun. Some of her personality is coming out. She's very clingy unlike our previous dog, Ana.

This is a good thread on this. What’s notable is that this appears to be written a lot like an international agreement, where the parties try to maximize their operational flexibility while minimizing future obligations. I can’t say if that’s normal or if it meets necessary thresholds for IAAs.
