We picked up Korra from West Suburban Humane Society last Sunday. She's about 2 yrs old. She needs training to help with separation anxiety and greeting dogs. She has settled down a lot since Sun. Some of her personality is coming out. She's very clingy unlike our previous dog, Ana.

Born and raised in Michigan. What a shocking result. Spent my summer in California. CA should be darker than Alaska.

We found this guy wandering in and out of the street this evening. Our neighbor is taking him to the vet tomorrow morning to see if he has a chip. He's sweet and well behaved. He's thin but his nails were likely trimmed recently. Hopefully we find is family/home.

Similar thing happened to me in my home office. Big chunk of old timey plaster fell from the ceiling. Put gouge in my desk. No one around when it happened. Our house is 100+ years old.

Friday was Ana's Gotcha Day. She rescued us 15 years ago. She needs a Help 'em Up harness to get up and down. We bought a loop accessory to help her walk. She's hanging in there. She's still enthusiastic to eat.

I couldn't agree more. Medical imaging is the bomb. It's what I do. That's a surface rendering of an X-ray CT of a bat. The other one is me, MRI and CT combined.

No matter the breed, every dog has one of three default dispositions: 1. Dipshit 2. Has a Job 3. Trying to Pick a Fight with God Ana is 15 years old. She no longer picks fights with anyone but she used to. She needs a harness to help her with stairs.

My hometown river used to have shopping carts, car tires, and other large visible signs of pollution. Although some sections still have litter, it's clean enough to enjoy recreational activities.

Just got back from a wonderful conference. The location/venue (Las Vegas) left a lot to be desired. More importantly, Thursday was Ana's Gotcha Day. 14 years ago, we got Ana March 27. She will be 15 in September or there abouts. It will be hard to imagine life without this little fox.

Took a break from doomscrolling to be a rockstar. 😂 I fixed the front door (loose hinge). I replaced the motion/security light on the garage. Picked up some trash in the front yard and took some photos of snowdrops. Crocuses are starting to pop.

I will be working on a more in depth writeup on Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) funding from the NIH, that's related to this project. However, I wanted to say that the Stand Up for Science rally helped focus my energy.

At the #StandUpforScience rally in Chicago, one of the speakers mentioned that the most important six words are "let me tell you a story" when it comes to trying to explain why science funding is important. The idea is to explain to everyday people how the work we (scientists) do makes life better.
