Explain your username: Was working with Johan Giesecke and Johan Carlsson at Smittskyddsinstitutet. Obviously, I was third in "rank" among the Johans and the reference to the 16th century Swedish King Johan III was then also obvious. At one point johaniii was taken so I switched to iiijohan.

I find teaching equivalence/non-inferiority tests tricky. I almost always stumble through explanations of how a confidence interval representing a two-sided test can also reflect two one-sided tests. So I wrote this for my students, but it's mostly to help me. github.com/CRFCSDAU/EH6...

Darren doesn’t exaggerate the poor state of the average biomedical and epidemiological research endeavor. Lack of respect for #statistics principles is one of the many causes, and awful incentives, poor methodologic peer review, and poor education about the scientific process being major causes.
