My postdoc work with @pcusachs.bsky.social is finally out! We find that fibrillar adhesions play an important role regulating the timescales of nuclear mechanotransduction. You can read all about it here : www.nature.com/articles/s41563-026-02590-x Huge thanks to everyone involved!!

Fibrillar adhesion dynamics govern the timescales of nuclear mechano-response via the vimentin cytoskeleton - Nature Materials
Nuclear deformation and mechano-signalling are regulated by the coupling of vimentin cytoskeleton to the extracellular matrix through fibrillar adhesions, modulating the timescale of mechanotransducti...

I'm very happy to share my first article as a corresponding author published in @natmethods.nature.com !! 😍 Some groups (like us) have developed complex 3DTFM methods in the last 15 years. BUT its usage in studies that help better understand disease or development has been almost non-existent.

How do cells navigate up gradients of adhesive proteins? 🤔 Termed "Haptotaxis", this effect is ubiquitous in cell migration, but it's mechanism was poorly understood We show that passive friction directs cells & explains complex trajectories on gradients 👉 www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Regrowing a zebrafish heart. Credit to @cao-lab.bsky.social. #ZebrafishZunday 🧪
Cao and colleagues found that the depleted heart tissue regenerates itself in a wave, led by a front of fast-moving, supersized cells and trailed by smaller cells that multiply to produce others.

The image above shows the large cells that contain multiple nuclei per cell (magenta). These cells are under more mechanical tension (aqua streaks) than trailing cells, which divide to produce cells with one nucleus each.

Is endothelium a type of epithelium? I am @icfortunato.bsky.social & I would like to discuss this with a short🧵 focused on cell-cell junctions, specifically adherens junctions.
