Had a dream that there was global panic about the world running out of oxygen, Nintendo was the only video game company to make a statement about it, and the internet collectively spent its final hours on Earth debating whether Nintendo was being genuine or not

A fabricated statement from Nintendo of America's Twitter account addressing a fictitious scenario in which the Earth's oxygen supply is presumed to be depleting at a rapid pace, leaving humanity with mere days to live.

"This is Miyamoto. On behalf of everyone who is employed at Nintendo Co. LTD and its subsidiaries, we deeply mourn the countless human lives which will be lost due to the depletion of the global oxygen supply. To anyone who has ever played one of our games, we are eternally grateful to have created long-lasting fun and memories for you. To ease the suffering of families and children across the world, the Mario Kart World game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system will be available as a free download on Nintendo eShop for the foreseeable future. I strongly dislike this system. In my vehicle, the engine stopping means no power steering. Sometimes if I’m crossing a median the engine will shut off, and getting up and going takes ~5s for power steering to return. Could have caused an accident.

I’ve seen one or two projects completely close down public PRs inside GitHub, and force all PRs to originate from a discussion. It adds a little bit of friction to the contribution process, but it also forces people to publicly discuss and think through changes, instead of yelling “fire the hole”

Disappointed but not surprised, UH (and other Texas universities) is still dealing with SB17, and now they have this new regime to deal with. With SB17, UH has been playing very quiet and strict to the letter, because there are groups in Texas right now trying to catch universities in lawsuits.

I wanted something different for Easter dinner (also, prime rib was ridiculously expensive this year) and so, applewood smoked leg of lamb! Went with a dijon-horseradish sauce, and it wound up being extremely reminiscent of a prime rib, but like a sixth of the price.

A fully cooked boneless leg of lamb. The meat is a dark mahogany color since it was smoked over applewood.
