OMFG. I know the Maritime Patrol Aircraft fleet is smaller than when we had Nimrod MR2. But they’re treating the P8’s like fighter jets to be scrambled to chase one target. Typically you’d give them a block of sea to cover, and Northwood would be doing that in coordination with our NATO allies.

This pretty much sums it all up. I was particularly alarmed by the BBC’s ‘analysis’ at one point where its resident ex-pongo did a deep dive in to the ‘incident’. It didn’t add anything other than a lot of conjecture, which if it ever comes to trial was bordering on sub judice imho.

It’s only the intro and I’m already wondering why a gang of politicians at COBRA would be looking at a tactical level display? It would be like them looking over my shoulder as a Track Coordinator and it just wouldn’t happen. Surely the whole point of decision making is they’re at a hi-level?

I’ve seen in previous years examples of Palestinian olive groves being uprooted and the trees being stolen by Israeli settlers. It now seems to be escalating. It’s all part of a systemic campaign to prevent Palestinians from having an independent economy.
