The camera controls button seems a bit forgotten on iPhone 18 Pro, because there is no option to control the new variable aperture or do manual focus. Those are on-screen button settings only

What OpenAI claims a model wrote into its own instructions for the next task reads like something from SF, like Neuromancer. The debate on regulatory capture or real risk will continue. But I'd argue a technology can be dangerous (and useful!!) even if it is not superintelligence or AGI

The main reason to get an iPhone 18 Pro vs another iPhone is the camera. Petapixel has the best 18 Pro camera review that I've seen so far: petapixel.com/2026/09/16/a...

Impressive to see Apple deliver IP68 with water ingress to a depth of **6 metres for 30 minutes** for the iPhone Duo, ie the folding model. The regular Pro models have an identical rating.

Use 1 eSIM across 2 iPhones with iOS27 — this is clearly ideal for use on a foldable iPhone + regular model. It would have been terrific for use with iPhone Mini too. To be usable it needs to work with apps like WhatsApp & Signal that are tied to a phone number www.macrumors.com/2026/09/02/i...
