You can see the small animal on the treadmill in her head as she says "high schools" and thinks, "no, that's not shocking enough. I know! I'll add 'and grade school'. That'll really get them going."

"When did we start believing in the polls?" Uhh, we have always had at least some belief in accuracy of polls, so I guess the answer would be, "since the beginning of spoken language, when humans first invented the concept of the interrogatory".

Just for the record, this screencap isn't really an example of the system mistaking the flag sticker for a license plate. It's giving a confidence score to it of .32 on a 0 to 1 scale, which I would consider to mean, "it looks a little like a license plate, but it probably isn't one".

I know that spoken language is messy because it happens in real time, but, "If you study countries, having assets all over us usually what happens," is an extremely clumsy sentence. I would expect an intelligent, informed, honest person to do a lot better than that.

Last game was on Tuesday night back in Tokyo. Chunichi Dragons got a 3-run homer and beat the Yomiuri Giants 3-0 as neither team could manage to hit their way out of a paper bag.

Third game was in Osaka (actually Kobe (actually Nishinomiya)) with the Hanshin Tigers hosting the Yomiuri Giants. Koshien Stadium just finished hosting the national summer HS baseball tournament. Tigers tickets are tough to get, so I overpaid for Stubhub tickets in the outfield, which was great!
Outside of the home plate side of Koshien Stadium in Nishinomiya. The stadium wall is brick with vines growing up the side of the walls. Upturned lighting illuminates the wall and vines from the second story of the building. The illuminated sign on the side of the stadium says "阪神甲子園球場" ("Hanshin Koshien Baseball Stadium"). An elevated car freeway has been built too close to the stadium, ruining an otherwise nice view. Many fans arrive at the stadium from this direction with the train station on the other side of the freeway and the wide pedestrian walkway under the freeway.A Panoramic view of Koshien Stadium from the left field stands. From the left, the large scoreboard in center field is visible. The field is centered with left field in the foreground, the infield in the middle distance, and the covered infield stands in the background. A partly cloudy sky covers the setting sun with the stadium lights on providing the evening light for the game.In the middle of the 7th inning, fans blow up long balloons to release all at once. Here, the fans have blown up the balloons and are waiting for the signal to simultaneously release them. Probably 3-4000 balloons are visible starting from the LF stands in the near left side around the outfield stands and into the 1B side foul territory seats. It is fully night time with a dark sky and stadium lights illuminating the stands and the field.

My second game was on Friday in Hiroshima as the Carp hosted the Yakult Swallows. We were down in the LF corner, but the seats were very comfortable and actually faced the right direction to watch the game on the infield. No dome or misting system meant that it was cooler, though still hot.
Panoramic view of the Hiroshima Carp game, shot from the left field corner across the field with the RF corner in the center, center field on the left side, and the infield on the right side. The sun is setting now at about 6:30 with a pretty, cloud-covered sky. The lights have just turned on. The Carp are not doing very good this season, so the stands are not very full right now.

My first game was last Wednesday with Seibu Lions hosting Nippon Ham Fighters (Ohtani's team while in Japan). It was oppressively hot, and for some reason, they installed mist jets all around the stadium to try to cool people off. It was outrageously humid under the dome as it caught the moisture.
Outside the "Kyuujou-mae" train station that goes directly to the stadium. The Seibu train company owns the trains and the team, so the trains are nicely synchronized to work for game attendees.

Overhead, the sun sets behind some clouds. It looks nice, but it's still over 90 degrees. There are about 200 people here, just outside the train station gates.Outside the Belluna Dome, Seibu Lions' home stadium. The dome is actually open around the sides, so it's more of a pavilion construction. Pretty much everyone walks up from the train to the gates in center field. Before the stadium there are small buildings to the left and right with the team shop.Inside the stadium while the game is going on. Our seats are on the third base side just beyond the infield. The dome roof is overhead and the twilight is peeking through the sides just above the seats. The misted water from the "cooling" system is hovering in the air, rising with the warm air and getting trapped underneath the dome. Normally, the air wouldn't be so occluded, but the moisture in the air is particularly visible.

Is it actually just a "frontfire" if the thing you intended to happen and the thing that actually happened are the same thing? Because that's what was intended to happen, obviously.

P5: Royal, for sure P4: maybe wait until the remake comes out next year (www.sega.com/persona/pers...), or Golden if you can't wait P3: the remake that's out now seems best (P3 is old enough that all the older editions like FES are kinda clunky to pay)

Just the sloppiness of the wording, here... "Alberta" is not talking about anything. "Alberta" is not sentient and does not speak. "Some people in Alberta" are talking about it, and "many more people in Alberta" are not talking about it, Andy.

Love a direct, to the point queen. Say it plainly and leave no space for bad-faith bullshit.
Asked why the WNBA continues to experience these heightened distractions, Cloud said, "Men."
"The men now that are like 'Oh, we need to protect the WNBA,’ y'all were the same ones saying we shouldn't be paid," Cloud continued. "Y'all were the same ones saying we shouldn't have been invested in, saying we're a joke, the same ones that don't respect Black women. So, if you're going to protect women, that means all women. That includes Black women, trans women and the list goes on."

You're all contractually obligated to read this comment Rob Paulsen made on a Tim Curry interview in 2025
Rob Paulsen - Voice Actor

I had the remarkable privilege to work with Tim a few dozen times.
Kind, generous, playful, naughty and a TOTAL pro. A couple years ago, at NY Comic Con, I was in the green room having lunch and Tim
came in in his chair. Of course, I was aware of his stroke, so l walked over knelt down and said, "Tim! It's Rob Paulsen. We
worked together on..." he looked me and said, "I know who you are,
you fucking wanker." It was like a blessing from the Pope. Utterly
unique. Unstoppable. A total star.

Dolly Parton's passing is effortlessly proving that if you spend your life being nice and kind and generous instead of mean and cruel and selfish, then apologists for mean cruel selfish bullies won't have to go around scolding people for cheering when you die, because there will be no cheering.

Amazing
In the week after the June 24 primary election for mayor, I was determined to meet with voters in conservative neighborhoods where
Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani (D-Astoria), a democratic socialist, had performed surprisingly well. In a Howard Beach precinct where Mamdani won, I met a couple who, despite being conservative, voted for Mamdani because they bizarrely thought he had run "to the right" of former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and also believed he was Italian-American, as his name ended in an
"'" and he was from Astoria.
When I dug further into why they thought he was running "to the right" of Cuomo, they noted that it was because he discussed "prices" and
"cost of living," as Donald Trump had in 2024.
They both voted for Trump. They had a hard time believing Mamdani was a socialist because they believed socialists "support making everything more expensive. 1"

the fascinating thing about Trump's tariff policy is that it shows that he not only doesn't understand taxes/levies, he does not even understand the concept of a transaction. He thinks if you pay 5 bucks for a thing you have been robbed of $5 even if you get the thing. Just the stupidest man alive
