The e-bike panic reflects how normalized dangerous driving is. People are seeing the "threat" from e-bikes everywhere while ignoring the danger from cars that has been and continues to be there. All I want is for e-bikes to be addressed in a way that's proportional to their actual risk.

I'm hearing some concerns up about implementing "no turn on red" as a default policy in Seattle, so it's worth remembering that allowing turns on red only saves "1-5 seconds" on average for 🚗 drivers, meanwhile it increases 🚶🏼 crashes 60% and 🚴🏾‍♀️ crashes 100%. This description makes no sense to me. A cyclist and a motorist were traveling in the same direction in Grantville. Driver "saw the bicyclist coming at him" and swerved left, then the cyclist crashed into the right front of the car? Cyclist was hospitalized with leg and rib fractures. #VisionZero

While I favor the fare increase, there's a huge difference in how elected officials respond to people that drive versus those that use transit. People that drive to Balboa Park get to keep all of the parking and pay nothing while those using transit will pay more and possibly get less service.
