$32 million went to Navatek INSTEAD of going to BIW, the 4th largest employer in the state. A firm that's been building Navy ships for 200 years from her own state lost a contract to a Hawaiian company because Kao gave her a $150K ILLEGAL contribution.

Sen. Susan Collins helped steer millions in federal defense contracts to Navatek, whose CEO illegally funneled thousands of dollars to her campaign. The FBI sought to launch a probe and was eyeing Collins and other lawmakers. Then Trump gutted the unit in charge. THREAD 🧵
Martin Kao, CEO of defense contractor Navatek, poses next to Sen. Susan Collins for a photo. Collins is holding a model of a boat in her hands. Behind them is a large sign with the Navatek logo.

Just a reminder, Golden decided not to run because he discovered that no one likes this. Dems don't want a turncoat and Repubs don't care what a Dem has to say. But instead of adapting, Golden decried incivility and quit. No need to hold all Dems responsible--they ran him out of office.

Don't we have $1b in the rainy day fund? Why aren't we just closing this gap with rainy day money and keeping our crown jewel of state education solvent? It doesn't make any sense to me.

It will just be more devastating when she is disabled, can no longer work and is completely dependent on him. 💔
