More confederate symbols and partisanship: the difference between GOP and Democrats on whether confederate flag is a symbol of racial conflict is larger than the difference between Blacks and Whites. This is true in the South, the nation as a whole, and our state (which kicked off the civil war)

Graham always had a complicated relationship w/ the hard core conservative wing of his party. This shows Graham’s approval across a 1-10 ideology scale. I show one from fall 2024 and fall 2025. Note how the highest approval is at 9 (2nd most conservative) and slightly dips at 10
