I made it to the top Fushimi Inari shrine in the dark and rain last night. Incredibly beautiful, but a bit of a tripping/slipping hazard in the wet and dark. So worth it though.

First onsen experience yesterday evening, followed by a vending machine fruit milk on the balcony with a view of Kanazawa. Quite possibly the most relaxed and content I've ever felt in my life.

So, after landing in Tokyo, one of the first things I saw was some sort of demonstration. Not sure what it was about since all the signs were in Japanese, but one person was holding a large progress pride flag (the one with the intersex symbol included). So that was pretty cool to see. :3

Can't help but think of this hiker-rescue story I saw earlier today

The USFS said the climbers told them they had used an artificial intelligence platform, YouTube videos and AllTrails to plan the trip. They said they relied on Al to decide what food to bring and how much food and water they would need.

The group said it packed supplies for an eight-hour climb, not its roughly 16-hour ascent. The climbers said Al recommended simple carbohydrates instead of fats because fats "take too long to digest."

"We relied too much on Al rather than our own critical thinking," the group told rangers.

I recently watched Evil Dead Burn, and I loved it. Much like Evil Dead Rise, it was more of a pure bred horror movie than the original franchise. But it did have some classic Sam Raimi whimsy and humour sprinkled in. Plus the end credits song goes really hard. youtu.be/-8MhOtt1wdY

I've been watching old He-Man episodes again lately, and I'm honestly loving it. It's so ridiculously campy and whimsical, and super wholesome. And it's fun to watch the writers go through hoops and bend over backwards to come up with ways for He-Man to defeat Skeletor while being a turbo-pacifist.
