Some other nature from this morning’s walk. A Giant Puffball (which apparently is edible 😬), a Tachina Fera/Magnicornis( a parasite of caterpillars) and a little Hoverfly Common Globetail? It’s great that there is so much nature content on social media. It means we can all learn from one another!

Many pollinators take both nectar and pollen. But not most flies, generally liquid feeders. But hoverflies do it differently- some can munch on pollen, as this Common Globetail feasting on the exposed anthers of Hesperantha in Beth Chatto Gardens today.
