What absolutely wonderful traps last night in Marbury 28/62. It’s a toss up what was the most unexpected moth an L-album Wainscot (I got the 1st for Cheshire 2 years ago and this is the 3rd) or a Common Pug (Can’t find an October one in the last few years but haven’t gone all the way back) #teammoth

A long video of the Ravens today for those of you that are interested in their vocalisations. Both came for breakfast then Chips flew off but Gravy kept following me as I walked, so I kept stopping to talk to her. She has never been so chatty!! I love her!!

The Ravens treated me to a long photo session this morning. They are so photogenic. Took loads and it was difficult to choose my favourite but I think it's the 1st one!

Lovely visit from the Ravens this morning. One or other has come to visit me every day this year bar 4 ( when I have been away). Just look at Chips’s face as he is being groomed! He looks so contented. Also listen out for the Cetti’s 😁

Morning from a very starry Marbury! If you are up look at the sky as Jupiter is just by the moon. The Barn Owls are screeching and the Tawny Owls are calling to one another. It is a perfect morning. Have a wonderful day 😊🤗

I love moth-ing but I don’t enjoy doing the spreadsheet!! I said I would keep it up as I went along this year, but you guessed it I haven’t. Looking promising tonight for more moths to put in the spreadsheet 😁

Morning from Chips and Gravy. Just look at that sky! This is already their 2nd visit. They have had their boiled eggs and now have come back for some suet. They have to arrange it just so before they fly off to stash it somewhere 😁

Only a quick visit from the Ravens this morning as they seemed to be on alert and have other things on their mind. I am just happy to see them for a short time as then I know they are happy and well 😊

Morning from a simply stunning Marbury. This may be my last morning from Marbury as I may have to leave after my performance at Karaoke last night. People apparently put their hands over their ears!! I won’t be able to show my face again🤣 Have a lovely day and keep singing & dancing!🤗

Think I am going to give up on the view down Wirswall Hill and start something else. Have really enjoyed doing some painting again though. It’s a really relaxing activity!

Some non birds from a perfect walk. I always try to get things in front of the moon & was annoyed that I was too slow for this plane this morning! Beautiful & misty early, lots of Red Admirals (saw a Clouded Yellow too) and Ivy Bees. The Ivy is doing well everywhere this year

Perfect morning for walking this morning. Not 100% on all my i.d's today and it got me thinking why some are better birders than other's and whether that attention to detail they have can be taught! Teal, Shoveler, Peregrine?, Raven, Sparrowhawk, Kestrels. Buzzards, Mipits, Kingfisher, Cetti's etc!

Early short visit from the Ravens & then we all heard a Raven call & they flew off. A couple of times recently I have heard what sounded like a youngster & the Ravens have gone & chased it off. They came for a second visit and Gravy called Chips for his morning wash & brush up! 😄

I take videos and landscape & moth photos with my iPhone, but most of my bird photos I take with my Nikon P1100. I've showed it's zoom before but today it even shocked me! The 1st picture is the Ravens in a tree in real life (centre in far distance), the 2nd is with Zoom!! You can identify them.

We have a Scots Pine in our garden. I look at it every day and think "I love that tree!" Beautiful in all lights, this morning it was spectacular with the stars behind it, earlier this week in the sunset. An old neighbour complained about it as they didn't like the pinecones!

Morning from Marbury. It is the perfect morning, lovely moon and stars early, not a soul around, Tawnies Barn Owls & Cetti’s calling, the sun is now shining and then the Ravens flew in nice and early. What could be better 😅

Fungi from today. The 1st was in the garden: I never noticed fungi in the lawn before! Some kind of Waxcap? Also on my walk the Deathcap, apparently the most poisonous fungi on earth responsible for 90% of all poisonings 😬, & Volvariella gloiocephala: edible but easily confused with Deathcap 😱

As I might have said once or twice 😂 I love the view from Wirswall Hill. Yesterday it was really beautiful with the mist over Cheshire, today it was dank and drizzly but still beautiful and last week it was stunning in the sunshine! Love how it is different every day😊

There is always something new to learn! I have read that Ravens can have unique vocalisations, accents if you will. I have noticed the last few times I have been walking down the canal that one of the Ravens there has this very unusual call. Hope you can hear it! Mine never use this one

My friendship with the Ravens is nearly all positive except for that bit of me that worries if I don’t see them. Peter said that one day 1 or both won’t come so I should prepare myself for that! Unusually today they didn’t announce themselves until the woosh of their wings behind me!

interesting behaviour from the Ravens this morning. They came for a 3rd visit &had a bit of suet. Gravy flew off but Chips followed me as I walked. Flying a bit then settling down and doing these 3 vocalisations. He seems to be doing the contact call to Gravy who is calling back

Not many Autumn moths: Red-line Quaker, Black Rustic, Lunar Underwings. Brightest moth was this Long- horned Flat-body Carcina quercana #teammoth
